In addition to the wide range of thalassotherapy treatments available, the Institute offers beauty treatments including wraps, massages and reflexology, all with a marine theme. Each of the spa's four private pavilions has its own style, and personal service is assured due to the limited number of guests. Facilities include a heated seawater pool, indoor pool, hammam, fitness centre, sauna and Jacuzzi.

The Institute's range of two, three- and seven-day long programmes are aimed at those wishing to relax, lose weight and improve their fitness. Each programme includes a selection of up to 30 treatments, with alternating morning and afternoon sessions to allow guests to take full advantage of the hotel's other attractions.

Sofitel Biarritz le Miramar Thalassa has 126 rooms and suites, ranging from the 25 sq metre (80 sq ft) Classic rooms to the 40 sq metre (130 sq ft) Junior Suites. All rooms have a modern, neutral decor and include a terrace overlooking either the sea or city. All rooms are en suite and feature satellite TV and air conditioning.

The hotel has a choice of two restaurants: Le Relais and Les Pibales. Le Relais uses fresh seafood and local produce to create a selection of gourmet dishes, while Les Pibales offers a menu aimed at calorie-conscious guests, with each dish under 400 calories.

In addition to the extensive Thalassotherapy Institute, Sofitel Biarritz le Miramar Thalassa offers guests a variety of leisure and cultural opportunities during their stay. Biarritz is a popular location for surfing and the annual festival is a highlight of the European surfing calendar.     • Biarritz-Parme Airport is 10 minutes away by car, while Toulouse-Blagnac Airport is 90 minutes away by car.
    • The resort does not arrange airport transfers.
    • Dogs are permitted free of charge.
