About Parma Center for Wellness and Health
Located in Vienna, Virginia, part of the DC metro area, McClean and Tysons Corner. Parma Spa was designed by Carroll Frey with the intent of enhancing clients' overall experience, with elegant features such as French grisaille paintings, touches of gold leaf, Venetian chandeliers, and gilded mirrors. Murals evoking the French countryside decorate the walls. Clients are encouraged to linger at the spa with extras such as Italian linens, chamois robes, gourmet refreshments, and tea in Limoges china.
The spa embraces the concept that the five elements of wind, earth, fire, and water are the "building blocks of our bodies," and that once these elements are aligned there is "balance within the human body and within the universe." Parma offers a variety of modern and ancient therapies aimed at achieving this harmony. Each client undergoes a one-on-one consultation with an aesthetician, massage therapist, or doctor, so that the spa can understand the client's needs and recommend a variety of customized treatments.
Spa services include massage treatments encompassing a range of Ayurveda modalities, body treatments, Endermologie cellulite treatments, skin-care services, waxing, threading, and permanent makeup. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) rejuvenation treatments, a pigmented lesion laser treatment, a vascular lesion treatment, and laser hair removal are among the spa's laser treatments.
Parma is staffed by an international group of spa technicians and licensed physicians. Staff members speak English, Spanish, Hindi, German, Chinese, and Korean. Western medical doctors perform services such as Botox®, Restylane®, Juvéderm™, vascular laser treatments, mesotherapy, and sclerotherapy. Physicians also consult with clients on topics relating to cardiology, acupuncture, internal medicine, counseling and psyche therapy, dermatology, comprehensive physical exams, gynecology, sexual function/dysfunction, weight and nutrition management, and oncology.
Packages are available, and clients can also participate in yoga classes provided at the spa.

Best facial ever! My skin looks great and feels great, I keep coming back, and will keep coming back. Only complaint is sometimes the rooms are a little cold, but just ask for an extra blanket and you get a second plush comfy throw =)

Dr. Thara designed a program that has worked for me to lose 20 pounds; go off my cholestoral medicine, no longer be pre diabetic, have more energy and becoming very healthy. Diane is a wonderful massage therapist, following the direction of Dr. Thara's prescription for the massage, I leave feeling wonderful and it is much more than the 90 minutes on the table, the benefits last for a longer time and seem cumulative. I highly recommend this spa and the gentle understanding care and support of Dr. Thara and the staff there. Dr. Thara goes above and beyond being in touch during home remedies as well. I did a process of detox at home and she called numerous times to check on me. I love that support!!

I got a Massage Package with Crystal. She is great! The ambiance was great and I was so relaxed after my massages. Crystal is very accomodating, if you are in pain she will make sure to ask you and work with your comfort level. I will definitley go again.

If you want to take your health seriously and lose weight the right way, Parma Salon is the way to go. I have lost almost 20 pounds in 1.5 months and I feel great. I have followed Dr. Tara's weight loss strategy consisting of heathy eating, cleansing the body, herbal supplments and proper exercise. I feel energetic and great about my body.

I have bad acne, and have tried just about everything, thinking I would have to deal with it for the rest of my life ... But STEFANIE proved me wrong! My skin is the best it has ever been and its not even hard to manage! I love love love her facial treatments. She is very knowledgable and explains not just what she is doing, but why. The only reason the spa doesnt get a 5x5 star review is because they don't do nails!

I have been going to this Center for 2 months to address joint pain and weight gain. Dr Thara is good on diagnosing the problem and offering treatments that can make a difference. I have lost a good 7 pounds following her suggested cleanse and Ayurvedic massage treatments (- Dianna is super) . I feel the recommended mix of exercise, diet, herbs and massages have reduced joint inflammation and kick-started losing weight steadily and without too much trouble: adding fresh vegetable juices and smoothies to a sensible meal plan.
The center is small and the reception area is close to the treatment rooms which can make it noisy at times. Otherwise, this is the place to achieve real changes to the way you look and feel.

I have had a lot o theraputic massage. His(Dr.Prabhu) is truly the best. He is courteous and kind. It start with a vigorous massage ont he head and only gets better. He always lets you know what is about to happen. He constantly checks in to see how you are doing how it feels. He talks to you afterwards and gives you mini steps to take to improve yourself (for me its drink 100 oz, of water) with the comforting messsage that he has more ideas on how to help me but late. One step at a time.
I know me an how hard it is for me to to relax. I was like jello AND I didn't talk. I was to much into the reparations my body was feeling the whole time he was working on me.
My hip doesn hurt!

While Parma Spa is a perfect, classy place to rub, melt or exfoliate your troubles away, they also provide caring Ayurvedic therapies administered by true professionals. Dr Thara and Dr. Prabhu work in unison to help balance your entire body and mind with their ministrations of medicine and massage. You will not find a more appropriate, balanced and therapeutic experience. I look forward to, and thoroughly enjoy, every visit.

I've been going to Parma Spa since 2007, even before Prabhu arrived. They have always had extremely skilled, knowledgeable, and incredible massage therpists. Their Ayurevedic massage is out of this world! I've traveled the world and have received massages all over. I get my best massage at Parma Spa. They have a niche in knowing how to read the body and fix it. My only complaint about Parma is that it's not a day spa where you can hang out and relax for a few hours. It's more of an in and out type of place. They do have showers there, though, and if you want to shower or something before heading home, they are completely fine with that. The new receptionist, Louise, isn't my favorite...she's sort of pushy, loud, and inflexible. However, I'll definitely deal with her to get the incredible massage they offer. You won't be disappointed if you get a massage there!

I was given a massage as a birthday gift and found Dr Prabhu so knowledgeable that I returned for the Ayurvedic oil treatments in which he excels. I was planning hip replacement surgery, but now find that I am pain free on most days. His oil treatments, coupled with massage, and the advice of Dr Thara on herbal supplements and food choices, have made me a believer in alternative healing. And, my husband is a traditional doctor, so this was a leap of faith for me!

I had been going to Parma Spa for the past couple of years for microdermabrasion in anticipation of my son's wedding. I started talking to Dr Prabhu about my knee surgery and how I still had pain and swelling. He told me that if I would come three weeks in a row, he could relieve the condition.
On my first massage, I realized that some of the movements he performed were like what was done in physical therapy, such as rotating one's leg and moving the knee cap. I was amazed! I decided to continue the treatment, and I was very pleased that the massage not only reduced swelling and pain in my knee, as promised, but also helped my overworked right shoulder to loosen up. He also worked on my feet, since I have pain due to standing at work all day.
Many massages I have had are wonderful for relaxation, but with Dr. Prabhu I feel that I am getting the attention of a medical specialist as well. After a massage with him, I feel that my circulation has improved, my joints are lubricated and my muscles have been relaxed.
That being said, I have had wonderful facials with Natasha and invigorating massages with Diana. Luisa, the receptionist, is always reminding me of specials that enable my spa dollar to go further. I will return!

I am a Vice Chancellor at Chiropractic College. I often get massages from an Massage Expert in my home town. I had a mild back pain almost 2 months, worsening day by day, treated by myself and other professionals, no improvement and finally I was limping. First time I was told about the Ayurvedic Massage thro my friend. I was fascinated. Recently, I visited Parma Spa, but I didn't identify myself. Dr.Prabhu introduced himself as he is the Ayurvedic Massage Therapist, and took me in as I complained about my problem. He washed my feet and prayed(New experience) explained the story behind washing the feet and a brief history of Ayurveda, I was more impressed. He explain me the causes about my pain(Groin Pull) and did some muscle streches, manipulation and Indian Hot Herbal Bundle Tx, which were incredible. I was able to get off from the bed easily, able to walk with out limping. I never had a massage like this. He suggested me 3 more sessions. I will be going soon for that Tx. He is the Expert in Massage Therapy Wonderful Ayurvedic Massage. I may talk about him in our College Board meet to offer a job. Albert, E. Chicago

This is my first time at Parma Spa. Usually I get massage from female therapists. My first time massage with a male therapist (Dr.Prabhu) was awesome. The way he drape me was someone who care for others, high professionalism, very good techniques, explanation of muscles. The best of the best was his Indian Hot Herbal Bundle application on my muscle stiffness, tightness and on the bundle knotches is not comparable. This is one of the very best massage(Ayurvedic) I ever had all these years. He care for people. I wish him all the best in his life. Campbell D.

I am an International traveller. I travel often to India. Often, I visited kumarakom, kovalam in kerala, where I experience the ayurvedic massage is very popular. I was looking for a place in US for the same service. My friend gave me a GC for a ayurvedic massage at Parma Spa. I had a Ayurvedic Massage service , By Dr.Prabhu which was excellent, better than kerala as he explain me about the techniques and the history of Ayurveda. I never had a massage like this even in India. His experience in ayurveda is Awesome. I recommend him for all my friends to experience the ayurvedic massage.

Prabhu's Body Massage really did the trick for my lower back pains. I've had to deal with lower back pain for quite a few years despite going through Chiro Tx, physical therapy, but after only a couple of treatment sessions with Prabhu, the pain vanished and I have full range of motion in my back again. I've been here several times over the last few years for a variety of treatments, and noticed in the last year their overall service has declined. While I've had some great ayurvedic massages in the past, my last visit was indeed my last visit. I had booked a hot stone massage while they were running a $75 special on weekdays. When I got there the therapist had not been told it was a hot stone massage and had not prepared the stones. So she gave me a regular massage instead. That wasn't bad, but she was clearly distracted (perhaps by the confusion over the type of appointment) and I was so drenched with oil when I left I had to shower when I got home. While most of the staff are nice, the place seems less and less organized and not well run. A shame because its a great location and has a lovely interior. But I won't be going back here.

Oh my!
This was my first visit and I wish that I had the funds to see Natasha every day! She studied my face (African American with cystic acne issues) and went to work - gently. She explained what she was doing as she worked and was careful to observe and respect even my sensitivity to scents and smells. This was the first in a long time that I have done a facial and looked in the mirror and said, "Wow!"

After spending time obtaining a relaxing facial, I came out to the receptioninst to only have her push once, twice, three times to have me purchase other packages. This has become a new routine at Parma which has become bothersome at best. As a long-time customer, I must admit that I'm about to say goodbye due to this high pressured treatment.

My wife and I visited Parma Spa and we both were very impressed with the services. I had a massage done and my wife a facial. I can honestly say, it was one of the best massages I have experienced and my travels have taken me to the best Spas in the world. When I asked about this particular treatment, I was educated that it is called Ayurevedic Massage and it originated in India. What makes it so unique is that it is a massage from head to tow. I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone who is still looking for the best Spa experience.

I was very impressed with the Spa Decor and the Staff. I had a Champagne Party with 5 of my friends at this location and it was so much fun. The accommodations where fabulous and the services were excellent.We each had a massage and facial done. My friends and I liked it so much, that we want to make this an annual event.

I found this spa through SpaFinder and saw the special they had advertised on SpaFinder. I called and told them I wanted to book an appointment for the special which was a 90 minute massage for $75. Great! They could take me that day. When I was on my way I realized that they never took my name or anything to hold the appointment. Strange. I hoped that the appointment was still available when I arrived. It was. My massage was pretty nice. I wish I would have been told that my therapist was a male, but not a huge deal. He was pretty good, but not too careful with his draping. Several times I felt as though I was exposed....especially since he insisted that I remove my panties. The real kicker is when I went to checkout. I handed them a $100 SpaFinder certificate was told that I owed them $50. What? I reminded her about the $75 special offer. She told me that I could not use a gift certificate for that and that the total was $150. I argued the point that you can't advertise a special price on SpaFinder and then not accept the certificates for the deal. That is kind of shady. I am sure that someone who didn't know better probably ended up paying the $150. Finally, after much back and forth, she agreed to accept the certificate and gave me $25 spa gift certificate back (that was only good for 2weeks). I feel like I was ripped off. Won't be going back there.

I had a great experience at Parma spa. The staff was knowledgeable and experienced and very customer service oriented. My massage was fantastic and invigorating and the facial left my skin feeling like a baby's behind. My only complaint is that the rooms were a little cold and the massage table was a little hard, especially while you are face down. But I suppose if you run "warm" and dont' mind a firmer table, then this place is definitely 5 starts.
