The three-level Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo is a 21,505-square-foot (2,000 square meters) complex encompassing ten treatment rooms, including a couple's suite, a candlelit relaxation room, and a thermal suite consisting of a crystal steam room, ice fountain, sauna, and caldarium. A ground-floor outdoor garden area, complete with a heated outdoor pool, a serene teak sundeck, and a healthful restaurant and bar, is available for guests to relax and rejuvenate. Spa interiors incorporate natural materials and textures, such as pallasandra wood and slate.

ESPA's holistic philosophy is reflected in the treatment menu, which includes signature treatments ranging from the pampering 110-minute Purva Karma four-handed massage to the Yoshi Ki, which begins with a seaweed foot soak followed by a seaweed salt-and-oil scrub and reflexology massage. Spa-goers can also let trained therapists create a personalized sequence of services by arranging for ESPA Time (minimum two hours).

I visited this hotel and spa and had probably the best massage I have ever had! I've tried a few ESPA Spas in my travels and you always get a high quality - with well trained therapists and exceptional products. And what made this visit special was the therapist - he was totally empathic and made the massage as much a spiritual as a physical experience. The hotel was great - classically individual - and the service was first class. And right in the centre of Monte Carlo so everything no more than a stone's throw away. It was a great weekend with very fond memories. Go Back? You bet!
