About Chalet Royalp Hotel & Spa

Opened in December 2008, the Chalet Royalp Hotel & Spa is a Swiss chalet-style hotel with views of the Swiss and French Alps, nestled in the small Swiss town of Villars-sur-Ollon. The hotel was built on the property of the private Rochegrise estate and has played host to the Spanish royal family. As guests enter the lobby, they'll notice a large reception area with a log fireplace, Chesterfield sofas, and a bar with floor-to-ceiling windows that highlight mountain views.

Guests have direct access to the slopes and after skiing can unwind with a massage or body treatment at the Spa by RoyAlp In the summer, golfers can hit the links at the Villars Golf Club on the property. Families with children can spend time in the video and game rooms, or watch a movie in the hotel's private theater.

The hotel's 63 guest rooms have modern interiors with balconies overlooking a park or the mountains and high-tech amenities such as wireless Internet access. At Grizzly, the hotel's carnotzet (a French-Swiss word for "room beside the wine cellar"), authentic Swiss fondue is prepared tableside. Other restaurant options feature gourmet offerings and special children's menus.

The expansive 1,200-square-meter (12,916-square-feet) Spa by RoyAlp has a modern design with six treatment rooms, as well as wet area with Jerusalem stone walls, a daylight indoor swimming pool with an open fireplace, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. The fitness center is open 24 hours and features Nautilus Equipment, and a relaxation room is also available. Clients can indulge in a private spa room (available by reservation) that comes appointed with a fireplace, jacuzzi, and sauna.

A variety of beauty treatments and massages are available, including Tuina, Elasto-Collagen trements, as well as the spa's signature Swiss CellFacial Revitalizing Luxurious Anti-Aging treatment, which is meant to clarify and harmonize dull complexions and incorporates the Precious mask and a face massage.

All 63 rooms and suites are individually decorated and have traditional Swiss chalet-style interiors with walls decked out in Swiss fir and alpine woods and furnishings incorporating bespoke sofas and armchairs. Modern touches feature large soaking tubs and gray slate in the bathrooms, Pay-Per-View TV, and wireless Internet access. Guests can enjoy views from private balconies. The room sizes range from 40 square meters (430 square feet) in the Executive and Royal Executive rooms and 55 square meters (592 square feet) in the Junior Suite and the Royalp Junior Suite.

Diners seeking a Swiss dining experience can head to Grizzly, a carnotzet, and sample fondue made with Swiss cheeses and prepared beside the table. Jardin des Alpes has an elegant style and offers a gourmet dining experience. Children are welcome at Le Rochegrise, which is a casual dining option featuring a special "Little Prince" menu. A chef table is located in the main kitchen and wine tastings are held in the hotel's private cellar. At the BeAR Bar, guests can enjoy local wine, cocktails and hot chocolate.
