The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is located on 850 acres of High Sonoran Desert with the spectacular Tortolita Mountains as its backdrop. Located 40 minutes from Tucson, the hotel features a classic Southwestern aesthetic, blending in with the natural beauty of its setting. In this refined desert oasis, guest facilities reflect the local landscape and culture, with a taste of Southwestern flair. There are 253 rooms, suites and casitas beautifully appointed with a mix of modern comforts and authentic, handcrafted architectural and design details. All offer breathtaking views of nearby mountain ranges, the Tortolita Foothills and Wild Burro Canyon.
Hotel amenities include a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed golf course, 20 miles of biking and hiking trails, tennis, children's programs, and adventure programming, including jeep tours, star gazing, horseback riding, and rodeos. Reminiscent of a Native American Kiva, or pueblo ceremonial structure, The Ritz-Carlton Spa®, Dove Mountain is a 17,000-square-foot complex with 14 indoor/outdoor treatment rooms, including two aesthetic rooms and dual treatment suites; additional spa amenities include a shower, boutique, and full-service salon with mountain views. Treatment rooms are wired with surround sound, allowing guests to use their personal iPods, and the over-sized spa suites come outfitted with private fireplaces; the Sky Stone suite is also appointed with two fireplaces, a private courtyard, experience shower, and hydrotherapy tub. Separate men's and women's lounges feature saunas and whirlpools, and the outdoor infinity-edge pool and relaxation area are lined by petroglyphs dating from 300 B.C. to 1500 A.D.
Eco-holistic services, including massage, facials, hydrotherapy, and body treatments, combined with organic desert botanicals, pay homage to the hotel's natural surroundings.

A jewel in the desert!! This is one of Tucson's best kept secrets!
I had a full body massage, MANICURE, and PEDICURE!
I read the reviews and was hesitant, but soon found I had NOTHING to fear! One person's experience is not necessarily the next person's!
These people know how to pamper! I had a relaxing and perfect pedi and the most wonderful massage a person could enjoy!
I can't wait to go back! The staff are very attentive and professional. It is evident that this spa is well managed!!
It's easy to see why Ritz stands out from all the others! Nicely done!

I love Ritz and I love the Dove Mountain spa most of all. I'm all about being pampered in luxury and this new spa does it right! My kids hangout at the resort waterslide, my husband plays golf and I get my "me" time. Apart from the spa, it is a beautiful resort. Prices still affordable likely because it is still new and undiscovered.

I visited the Sap at the Ritz-Carlton as part of a girl's getaway weekend. While the facilities were gorgeous, and the amenities in the spa were thoughtful & well-appointed, my nail services were a complete (and expensive!) disappointment.
During the pedicure, the nail tech literally sliced open both of my big toes while filing my toe nails, leaving open cuts that stung for days afterward. My manicure was not much better, as she left ragged cuticles and painted over them -- frankly, I can and have done better myself!
I have had numerous other 'spa' pedicures (of comparable price) with impeccable results - but that was not the case here (despite the $140 price tag). Frankly, I have also had services at the cheap, strip-mall nail salons that were much better than this - at least I didn't leave injured!
On top of the bad services received, we ordered drinks and snacks at the spa pool that took AN HOUR AND A HALF to arrive - with no explanation or apology for the slow service -- it was unbelievable!
I know the Ritz is relatively new (6 months or so), but if they expect repeat business, or even positive word-of-mouth referrals, they'll need to step up their service considerably! Despite the beauty of the surroundings, and the spa itself, I was overwhelmingly disappointed with my experience there.

When I signed up for a one night stay after finding the Ritz via this site, I didn't realize it was the new kid on the block. Here is where the Wow-oh-wow comes in. The spa facilities almost defy description. There is a co-ed endless saltwater pool with waterfall surrounded by outdoor beds for relaxing or catching a drink or snack. If you need to warm up, there are two huge gas fire pits with comfy chairs and tables. If you want to be free as a bird on in Dove Valley, you can enjoy an outdoor shower, steam room, sauna, resting area or hot tub as au natural as is comfortable in the separate gender specific areas. If the weather is inclement, you can still warm up by another gas fireplace with comfy chairs and reading materials in yet another co-ed relaxation room with a cedar patch on the ceiling that adds to a sauna feel without the extreme heat. Treatment rooms are beautiful and the facial & massage I had were tops!
All this is great. But for me, the beauty of this resort that goes well beyond the incredible beauty of this resort is that it is not only “family friendly”, they designed it for folks with kids who still want to enjoy a solitary spa experience. At the complete other side of the resort is a water slide and amazing cabanas that actually have dvd players, fridges and a small TV so you can bring your child’s favorite DVD – a must for me with a child too young to really enjoy the beauty of the resort.
They have summer camp like offerings so the kids can play while I play guilt free in the age 14 and older completely secluded, quite and restful spa.
There are plenty of onsite dining choices along with a fabulous restaurant (Core) with an open kitchen where you can watch the action – who needs theme parks?
I’ll be back with my daughter long before she is old enough to join me in a spa treatment – yay!!

I was given Spa Certificates for Christmas from Son and Daughter-in-law and decided to try this new Spa for a facial. Oh what a treat!
The setting is gorgoeus up in the Dove Mountain area where to golf tournament is held every year.
The place was beautiful and eveyone was so nice. But, on top of all of that the Facial was the best I had in years!
I woul go back tomorrow if I could. I would definitely rate this as one of the top Spa's in the country and I have been in Spa's from the East Coast to the West Coast!
