Housed on the second floor of Edinburgh's Harvey Nichols department store, Beyond Medispa is a cosmetic spa offering the latest in skin care and body treatments. The spa has three treatment rooms and maintains an atmosphere of privacy and calm with a sleek, modern design.
All services start with a VISIA(r) skin complexion analysis administered by an aesthetician, with the results used by the aesthetician and medical doctor to create a personalized facial rejuvenation plan that includes spa treatments and at-home care, tailored to each client's individual skin-care needs. All initial and review consultations are complimentary, and the spa recommends annual VISIA(r) analysis appointments to assess the skin's improvement during on-going treatments.
Services include medi-facials, chemical peels, diamond microdermabrasion, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapies, elôs skin tightening and wrinkle rejuvenation, laser hair removal, laser vein therapy, Velashape(tm) cellulite treatments, Macrolane(tm) instant breast augmentation procedures, semipermanent makeup, and in-house and at-home teeth whitening. Botox(r), Dysport(r), Restylane(r), Restylane(r) Vital, Restylane(r) SubQ, Juvéderm(tm), and Perlane(r) are also available.
The spa's range of "indulgent therapies" features the Deep Heat Lava Shell Massage, the Aroma De-Stress Massage, and upgrades like a vitamin-infused detox treatment, scalp massage, a deep heat lava shell foot and ankle massage, and a body-firming electro mesotherapy infusion. Clients can select from a variety of luxury bespoke packages, and sign up for premier membership to receive benefits such as unlimited treatment sessions and savings on services scheduled all year-round.
Dr. Barry Cohen is the spa's medical director and a board-certified plastic surgeon. Medical doctors perform injectable treatments and are experienced in skin-care services. The spa's aestheticians are trained beauty therapists and are educated in the latest therapies. All staff members are fully committed to the Health Care Commission and National Care standards.
PH Advantage, a line of cosmeceutical skin-care products developed by Dr. Cohen, is available for purchase through the spa.
Doctor Credentials
Dr Barry Cohen, renowned US plastic surgeon, founded Beyond MediSpa as well as pH Advantage Cosmeceutical skincare range. Dr Cohen was responsible for setting the unsurpassed standards for which Beyond MediSpa are now renowned for.
Resident Doctor Liliana Laird is also an expert in Dermatology and has performed thousands of injectable procedures. Trained using the best techniques and latest technologies, Dr Laird practices result based aesthetic treatments and regularly attends conferences and continuous training enabling her to keep updated and to learn new techniques.
A member of the General Medical Council and with over 20 years experience, Dr Laird has been asked to speak at various events. She has been interviewed and quoted a number of times in newspapers and magazines, such as the Scotsman, I-on and InStyle Magazine.
Dr Laird was also a finalist in the Scottish Health and Beauty Awards 2011 as Cosmetic Consultant of the Year.
