Coral Beach Gem Spa is a 43,000-square-foot complex superbly designed in rich woods, Italian-mosaic décor, sand marble, and a curvy ceiling reminiscent of cascading ocean waves. Treatment rooms total 26, and include two shiatsu and Thai massage rooms, a VIP couples suite with dual Jacuzzi and steam room, and two master suites with hydro-massage tubs and colour therapy. Romantics can unwind with a starlit massage in the spa's thatched-roof beach cabana.

Complimentary with all spa services is the spa's 10-step hydrotherapy circuit, comprising coed and separate men's and women's facilities such as a colour therapy steam room, dry sauna, ice room, sensory showers, clay steam room, whirlpool, sensory pebble walkway, and pool with water bubble beds, neck jets and floor geysers.

The menu lists treatments inspired by both land and sea, along with gemstone therapies like the signature Seventh Wonder Luxury Massage; the 80-minute ritual utilizes seven colours of quartz, aromatic oils, and candles for each chakra.

The spa is appropriate for guests ages 16 and older; those younger than 16 are invited to a special treatment room in the salon for Barbie mani/pedis and tutti-frutti or chocolate facials.

My daughter and I went for a spa day at Gem Spa Cancun. We started the hydrotherapy circuit at 7:30 am in time for our 9:30 am massages. We had the whole spa to ourselves so early in the morning and was so happy we booked early morning. When we were leaving around 11:30, there were 7 people just starting. The valet and massage services were excellent and the facilities were to die for. You leave feeling pampered and your skin silky soft. I had the Russian massage while my daughter had the Hindu head and foot treatment. The Russian massage was amazing (and I am a spa addict). She was able to get the knots out at the same time it wasn't painful ( i even fell asleep). She used stones to massage my back to provide added pressure. It is pricey ($218 for a 50 minute treatment) but if you consider that this includes the hydrotherapy circuit, it is a bargain! Not to mention for a luxury spa in NYC you have to pay $300 for a 50 minute treatment and not have all the facilities you get at Gem Spa. My only regret is I saved this for my last day and thus couldn't go again before we left and I didn't have time for a 80 minute treatment since we had to be back to checkout the hotel! If you're a spa lover, DO NOT MISS THIS WHILE IN THE AREA!

I couldn't wait to check out The Gem Spa at The Fiesta Americana. It was HUGE. I myself am female and I brought a male friend with me. After going our separate ways with our valets to change, we were brought to the sensation pool. Neither one of us could lay on the bubbling massage beds without getting thrown off from the intense bubbles but the high pressure water fountains felt nice. After just a few minutes we both went our separate ways to the heated rooms and pools. We each had the entire spa to ourselves -unreal! The steam room was beautiful and I felt as if all my pores came alive. Actually all the rooms were gorgeous but I had a hard time getting to the relaxing point when my valet kept asking how long I'd like to be in each room, when I'm used to doing circuits at my own rate. There was a language barrier as she had a thick Japanese accent. I would have liked to have stayed longer than just the two hrs I had, but I scheduled a massage. Joel, my masseuse, was amazing! I almost fell asleep I was so relaxed. I give 4 stars for the price point. I pay less than half at the spa in my hometown with more heated rooms options. And the valet was nice, but a bit overboard, making it hard to truly relax in the hydro circuit.

I went with my wife for a day of relaxation and that is exactly what we got. The Spa is intimate but huge. And the sensation swimming pool is extraordinary. I had an amazing massage and my wife´s pedicure was the best. We will be back again.

This was my best spa experience. This huge spa was also so intimate. I spent three hours at my hidroterapy ritual guided by Juanita, my valet. Excellent service and attention tu detail. At the end the sensation pool was fun. I was able to share it with my husband too and we really enjoyed it.
