About Bliss 49
With trademark touches like rhythm and blues tunes, the signature brownie buffet, and its talented staff, Bliss combines a menu of skin-fixing and tension-nixing services in a 'no-attitude' atmosphere.
This bright and airy 11,821 square-foot spa has a mod feel and features 17 treatment rooms, a retail boutique, nail stations with individual TVs (movie-while-you-mani), separate men's and women's lounges and locker rooms with sink-side product sampling, personal steam showers with optional aromatherapy, and digital lockers. This location also features a women's sauna.
Bliss49 offers a wide variety of services. Bliss's signature treatments include the Triple Oxygen Treatment facial, a 75-minute full body massage, skin softening scrubs, luxe pedicures, and Brazilian bikini waxes. In addition to the signature brownie buffet, cheese and crackers, cucumbers, olives, and other refreshments are always available.
Bliss is also available for group bookings.

I've been to this location many times. The services I've gotten upstairs have always been wonderful but the last time I had nail services on the ground floor I got aggressive attempts to up-sell with additional services and products. The technician convinced me to use a callous removing add-on which immediately made a large area of my skin red and inflamed. She went to wipe it off and ended up wiping it up my leg and creating a larger red, stinging area. She then tried to convince me that it wasn't happening due to the product. I've never had anything like that happen to me, anywhere, and I thought it a bit ridiculous.
However, that waste only negative experience I've had there. Massages are wonderful!

As far as bikini waxes go, this is the least-painful way to do it because Bliss's hardwax (no paper) is fantastic. My therapist was excellent, professional, and knowledgeable. The treatment is somewhat pricey though. Most Bliss locs now accept SpaFinder gift certificates, which is nice.

I was disappointed in the way I was treated by the young girl at the desk and Jazmin's pedicure and manicure job was nothing like what I am accustomed to receiving at Bliss 49. I have been going to Bliss 49 for the past 2 yrs & have always received top-notch, very professional & awesome service. I usually go for cheek, lip and chin waxing (Maya & the other technicians who service me are always amazing) & I occasionally get a manicure & pedicure on the same floor where I get my waxing, & the technicians assigned to me are always very professional & awesome. However, on Sat 7/9, I walked over to the desk on the ground floor & as I introduced myself, the young lady abruptly cut me off & said that I would be "downstairs today" & then she walked away from the desk. I looked around & then I said to the young lady "excuse me, I don't understand what you mean by "downstairs", I always go upstairs for my appointments" & she curtly retorted that I would be "downstairs". So I asked her to direct me to where "downstaris was" & she pointed with her finger. This behavior was upsetting & the service was awful. Suffice it to say that the pedicure caused an allergic reaction to my feet & the poor manicure took 5 mins! signed, long-time client

I have never had a bad experience at any location I have visited, but the NYC Lexington spa is close to where my NY residence was and I just loved the services and staff as well as always buying products for my home bath.

I am so excited Bliss is finally on Spa Finder list!
I have tried all 3 locations and my favorite is "49 . I ve been coming for a few years. When you first step off the elevator you can smell this awesome clean aroma. You have your own locker, robe, slippers, as much towels as needed. There is a sauna, steam room, showers. All amenities are there just bring your make-up. Refreshments are waiting for you, cheese crackers, cookies, brownies and water, apples.
I love their facials, great anti-aging and your skin is luminious. I have senstive skin and I am never disappointed! Their staff is very knowlegable .
I have my favorite people give an awesome 75 min massage so relaxed. Bliss is what you will feel and love them and their products they have waitng for you to try.

I prefer the 57th st bliss location to this one. This location feels very much like a department store that you come to to get waxed and massaged. I still like it here though because I love bliss spas as a chain but this one is a little more factory like as opposed to the 57th st location that is a little more intimate and exclusive feeling. The therapists do a great job here and my favorite service is the oxygen facials, Their waiting room for massage and body treatment is also big which I really love. I will be back to this location if I need a service done and cannot book an appointment at 57th st.

Came here with my mom and sister for massages. Great location in the W hotel - love that place. Very relaxing, I've been to Soho and 57 and so far 49 is my favorite Bliss.

I always go for a special pampering pedicure and manicure. Their Paraffin treatment really eliminates all the cracked dry skin from your feet, and you walk out with the softest pair of feet. Always super clean and the staff is gentle, patient, and skilled.
