I received a mother's day gift card to Valina and went in this past weekend to finally use it. From the way I was greeted to the skills of the masseur who massaged me, everything was top of the line. It is very clear from the second I walked in that customer satisfaction is a main priority to this business and they make every possible effort for their clients to really feel it. Of course I will visit again, I already canceled my hair cut appointment (in two weeks) at another salon.

First time I came to Valina, a couple of months after they opened, I was dissatisfied with the massage I got (I later learned that the masseuse who did my massage was let go). The owner, Nina Lancin, was at the front when I was paying and she sensed that something was off; although I did not outright state my satisfaction. She immediately sat me down and talked to me about my experience. Needless to say, she went above and beyond to make it right for me. THIS is what I call client satisfaction. This woman is an incredible business person with a keen understanding of what her clients want/need. It is because of her business sense and down to earth personality that her business is prospering and will continue to do so. I recommend everyone to go to Valina at least once. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Love getting my hair done at Valina Salon and Day Spa. Stephanie is simply the best!!! I got my hair colored and partially highlighted by Stephanie and I am super happy with the results.Stephanie is extremely professional and took her time making sure that my hair color was absolutely gorgeous!! So happy I received a gift card to Valina for Christmas. I am not one who goes to spas often, but I enjoyed myself so much at Valina that I will be coming back way more often than I'm used to. I had a wonderful time chatting with the owner and the front-desk personal, they are just the most personable people I have come across in a very long time. I got an 80 minute massage and a facial; both the best I have ever had. All in all, Valina is a wonderful salon and spa without the nonsense.

I travel a lot for work and have experienced a lot of salons and spas. I have been to everywhere from incredible destination spas to the not so good run of the mill spas. Valina is at the top of my list for the following reasons: excellent personalized customer service, cleanliness, putting the client first, affordable prices, one of a kind services and knowledgeable staff. Most places aspire to accomplishing one or two of these things, but where they hit the nail on the head is accomplishing all of these things. Not only do they accomplish it, but the manner in which they do it is so genuine and looks like this is just a part of their company culture. Great salon and spa!

This is a beautiful salon from the second you walk through the doors. The staff is pleasant and more than accommodating. I have purchased products, had a massage and salt scrub and am a frequent client of their airbrush tanning. I recommend anyone to try it- you won't be disappointed!

I had a Spa Finder Gift Certicate that I was looking to use & decided to read some reviews of the nearby salons & day spas. I was very impressed with the reviews of Valina & even more impressed with the answers by the owner (Nina) to the not-so-good reviews. Nina stands behind her staff's work and will try fix a situation if you are not satisfied - that's impressive. I decided to go there with my unruly, frizzy mop of curls (and I am so glad I did). Stephanie who colored and "cleaned up" my hair was FANTASTIC - she showed my how to care for my curls and suggested products that would work best - I now LOVE being a "curly girl" Thanks Stephanie & Valina Salon & Day Spa - I will be back to see you very soon and maybe even have some spa pampering!!

I found Valina on Spa Finder and hadn't been there before. They exceeded my expectations. The girl who cut/glossed my hair, was so professional yet so personable. She took the time to explain what has happened to my hair over the years of dying it and what I can do/use to improve it. I usually go to different salons each time I do my hair b/c I've never found a place that I truly like but I'm stopping here. I'll be returning to Valina. Thanks Valina!

My wife has been frequenting this spa since this summer. So I've been putting off buying her holiday gift, a gift card from there, since I usually get really nervous going into places like that. Unexpectedly, as soon as I came in I was welcomed with such warmth that I forgot how nervous I usually get. The girl at the front offered me something to drink and then she got to work, first she asked me how much I wanted to spend on the gift, which made me feel even more comfortable because now she would suggest packages that were in my budget ($250). She also looked at my wife's account to see the services she has done and what she hasn't tried yet. Even though I only came in to get my wife a gift, I left knowing that I will go there as a client in the very near future; maybe even when my wife goes to redeem her gift. Absolutely great establishment, now I know why my wife loves it.

Overall I had a wonderful experience at Valina this past weekend. The staff was wonderful and super accomodating. Had a very relaxing massage with Louis & a facial with Ella, both were superb in their service and skills. Will definitely recommend and come back to Valina. They have a good holiday gift card promotion too right now, so I finished my holiday shopping early this year.

Went there yesterday for the first time for a massage with Kathy. The massage wasn't horrible but I have had a lot better ones... I left the massage feeling like a grease ball from the oil that was used. Wasn't a big fan at all of that. I got the aromatherapy massage and did not experience at all the aroma that was included. The atmosphere before going into the massage was very relaxing though which I really enjoyed.

I started going to Valina Salon & Day Spa when they were open for only one month. I am always hesitant to try new places, especially those that have a direct impact on how I look, so when I got a mailing for 20% off I booked with hesitation. Let me just say this, not only do they have qualified & competent staff but I am treated amazing every time I'm there. Valina really is simply irresistible and impossible to not like. You have to search really, really hard to not like something about this gorgeous facility and the staff/management that make it so warm and welcoming. You can try any one of their services and know that you will not be left disappointed.

Yesterday was the first time I came to Valina. It was during the time my hair was being processed when I went on various websites, including this one, to see if anyone had rated this salon yet. I was shocked to read what the previous reviewer had written. It is so far from the truth that I felt obligated to write my own review. I could not have been happier with the staff, the ambience, the service, the general atmosphere and the final result of my hair. As a side note, a massage therapist walked around and gave me a complimentary hand massage (something she told me she does during the time she is not busy), her touch was very professional. This is one of the best salons and spa I have ever been to, for the aforementioned reasons and many more. I am glad I found a great stylist I can now go to and I will be coming back for my massage.

Having said that, it is generally assumed that when a person is not satisfied with the outcome of their services they will voice a complaint. If your hair truly turned orange as you claim and you felt "beaten," I am genuinely surprised that you did not call or come in in order to remedy the situation or at least to ask for your money back. Furthermore, we have a very strict protocol on cleanliness and take great pride in how clean and sanitized our salon and spa is. We celebrated my friends bachelorette party at Valina. Like the previous reviewer, we came on a busy Saturday and we were catered to as if we were the only ones there. There were 11 of us, we all got manis & pedis. When we arrived the front desk greeted us like we just arrived in a 5 star resort, we were whisked to the "nail lounge" (now I know why the staff at Valina calls it that) and were immediately offered their signature drinks--some kind of specialty mimosa. They also gave us bagels to start and then cheese & crackers with wine. The owner came in a couple of times to check on us, and personally made some of our cappuccinos. Oh and the best part is that the services were to die for and they now have 11 clients for life. We are all in love with Valina!!!

I have been a resident of Monmouth County for over 20 years and have frequented every salon and spa in this area. I was compelled to write a review for Valina Salon & Day Spa not just because I had a great massage, but because I was made to feel like I was the most important person in the world by each and every single person who worked there. I came on a very busy Saturday, but my whole entire experience was so warm and welcoming that I would never know that I was not the only person who was being catered to. I commend the staff of this gem for their skills and truly incredible customer service.

I had been to this spa when it was under a different name and ownership. When I saw that it had reopened under a new business name / ownership, I was skeptical. However, my sons purchased me a mothers day gift card to have a spa day here. I was shocked. I was greeted by the front desk, who were extremely generous and offered me a latte and a pastry. I started my day off with a facial which was amazing. She suggested I try a peel, which left my skin flawless for one of my son's upcoming weddings. I had a great massage after, followed by a mimosa in the relaxation room. The owner came out and greeted me as well. She was so welcoming!! I'm really in love with this place and can't wait to go back for my hair!!
