I had an extremely relaxing afternoon. The massage i had was excellent. My facial was very rejuvenating and calming. My nails turned out absolutely perfect! I couldn't ask for anything better. My visit was tremendously enjoyable. I recommended this spa to all of my friends. They had nothing but wonderful things to say about it! Thank you so much!

I came into Tamaras about a week ago with an old high school friend to catch up. I honestly had one of the best experiences ever. We started off with deep tissue massages, they were good! Then we got to our manicure and pedicures, they were amazing!! We had some sisters Natalie and Mary, we had an amazing time! They did a wonderful job and kept the conversation going, so there was not a dull moment! GREAT EXPERIENCE! +++++++++++

This place was great. I have only previously had 2 massages in the past, but this massage was much better than I ever got even in LA. I am from Los Angeles, but is I am back in the Detroit area or somebody asks for a recommendation for a wonderful spa this would be the place. Thank you, I feel relaxed and pampered.

Yesterday, the day before Thanksgiving, I went in for a glycolic peel as I do normally once per month or every other month. I got a random person this time, Jane, rather than Ellen (the best), Victoria, or Erika. During my procedure I had to keep asking the "professional" why her methods were different than the others - applying the acid with a abrasive tissue scraping my face, asking me how long everyone else leaves in on, not using a neutralizer at the end of my couple of minutes, wiping the acid off rather then blotting, etc. She assured me that she knew what she was doing. I told her my face felt like it was on fire...still! She told me to allow her to put a cold compress on my face. She did this and then left the room (strange). I took the compress off & saw the amount of blood and went to speak to a manager. The receptionists told me that there was no manger on duty not the owner and that neither of them was answering their phones or returning a text. Then the Jane, the "professional", tried to run up front to over talk me and the job she did! I explained to them that I was going to put my clothes on and I was leaving. The receptionist still tried to make me pay, saying that services were rendered, blood & all! NO WAY!

Good Day, Katherine has been a loyal Tamara Spa client for a while and always enjoyed the spa services. She has had many glycolic facials with us before; She was always happy and satisfied. Unfortunately her last visit was not what we hoped for. We give this facial to many clients and this has NEVER happened before. Her esthetician Jane has been doing facials for over 35 years, this has never happened before with Katherine or any of our clients. I believe the burning of the skin is due to home products or products prescribed by the dermatologist that can make the skin more sensitive and her skin reacted. We always use the same products. We never charged her for this facial and I offered her a relaxing free facial. We are in business over 35 years and our clients are always satisfied. She has always been satisfied with the glycolic facial; she saw results and kept coming back. I don’t like to see clients unhappy this is why we apologized, did not charge her for this facial and offered her a complimentary free facial. I can absolutely assure you that we provide the best facials here and take care of our clients. To your health, Tamara

DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$$ AT THIS PLACE..WE GOT A GIFT CERTIFICATE FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL AND SHE WENT FOR A DAY AT TAMARA'S SPA AND THE CELL PHONES WERE GOING OFF DURING HER MASSAGE, FACIAL AND ETC..THE NAIL TECH CUT HER FINGERS, THEY DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO COMPLETE HER DAY AT THE SPA, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS WHEN YOU PAY $330.00 FOR A DAY AT THE SPA. OBVIOUSLY THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BOOK THEIR TIME PROPERLY. ONE OF THE MOST ANNOYING THINGS IS THE CLAIM TO HAVE A " NO CELL PHONE ZONE"..WHICH THE EMPLOYEES TO DO ADHERE TO. I was provided with a spa day package. I have never had an entire spa day before, so I was really excited to be completely pampered. First, the receptionist when I arrived was fantastic. She provided me with a great orientation of the spa and my day. I had a great, plush robe. However, they make a big deal about you keeping your cell phone silenced, however their staff don't follow the same rules. During my facial, the technician answered a phone call. So much for my relaxing experience. My massage and steam were amazing. Very relaxing, and the massage therapist had the most soothing voice. Once I had my manicure and pedicure, it was back to the cell phones again. On and off and on and off. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. It's hard to appreciate the really great moments when there are so many bad moments.

MY HUSBAND HAD GOT ME A SPA CERTIFCATE, AND THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME COMING. IT INCLUDEING A MASSAGE,FACIAL, AND PEDICARE. I MUST SAY THE MASSAGE WAS WONDERFUL THEY REALLY TOOK THERE TIME TO MAKE ME FEEL RELAXED, THE FACALIST REALLY EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO ME AND RECONMENDED ME SOME GREAT PRODUCTS THAT I STILL USE. I purchased a gift certificate for a mani-pedi, thinking my wife would enjoy it. She was treated so poorly that it is unbelievable. She was made to wait because she had a gift certificate - even though there were no other customers at the time. One of the workers made rude comments about her pedicure, since (it was obviously "self-done"). Frankly I'm disapointed, and I intend to tell everyone I know about this kind of treatment. Not only is this one customer who will never return, but this is someone who will make everyone he knows hears about this treatment so they don't make the same mistake that I did.

I had a wonderful day of pampering! Until the manicure and pedicure. I had to wait quite awhile . This was my first and last pedicure, it was painful and stressful. And unfortunately , now I have a toenail fungus that I have to take antibiotics for three months! I really hope the owner of Tamara spa reads these reviews. There seem to be a lot of complaints about manicures and pedicures!!

Tamara's is the BEST! I have been getting my facials from Victoria for years and wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. I have also been getting my massages from Mark - heavenly!! I visited Tamara Spa for the first time last month and used a gift certificate I received for "the works" pedicure! It was a real treat! My feet and I were treated like royalty and when i left, i felt great and my feet still look terrific after 3 weeks. I will definitely go back and highly recommend Tamara Spa.

My favorite spa in Michigan has to be Tamara Spa. I've been to Macy's, I've done other local spas, but Tamara's is far superior. The hot stone massage will warm your heart and soul. The Swedish massage transports you far, far, away, and the aromatherapy massage will put you to sleep. Recently, they've extended their hours to include appointments on Sundays, and they even offer email coupons when you sign up on their web page. If you want to a good massage, pedicure, manicure, or facial, come to Tamara Spa!

Every month I look forward to my "Relaxation Retreat" at Tamara's Spa. I treat myself to an aromatherapy massage so that I can escape from my stressful life. After my treatment I feel so relaxed and rejuvinated. I am always so busy being a mom and wife, that I wasn't taking time for myself. I took my best friend for her birthday and we chose the BFF package. Needless to say our appointment was at 9am and they weren't ready for us until 20 minutes later. The massage was okay but I expected more than just a hot stone neck and shoulder rub during my 25 minutes. The facial was nice but if I don't like hearing a sales pitch during my appointment that should come at the end. I will say the paraffin foot treatment was a waste. We sat in a cold empty room, dipped our feet in wax, had our feet wrapped in plastic and sat alone for 20 minutes. After it was over the wax was peeled and we were advised the residual would come off by washing our feet when we got home. The lunch was a cold Greek salad probably from the local Coney or take out spot in a cold dining room. I've been to other spas and the experience was 10 times better.

We were running late and called to say that we would be fifteen minutes late. I had a pedicure and a massage scheduled. The massage was pretty good (not the best but not the worst), but the pedicure took them over 2.5 hours to finish. They said it was because we were late by fifteen minutes, but it literally took them 3.5 hours just to finish two simple services. They kept walking in and out of the room and didn't tell us where they were going or when they would return. The manicurist was rude and abrupt. We finally walked out without them even painting my toenails. They were going to try to charge me for the full pedicure anyway. Finally, they took off 20% off the pedicure price. Ridiculous, horrible service. I will never go back here. Very disappointing. There are too many nice spas in this area to go to places that don't appreciate their customers.

I have visited Tamara's several times in the 2 or 3 years. I have received massages I love them! I have also received two facials at Tamara's and give them 5 stars also! Tamara's is ultra clean and you can tell it was designed by a professional designer. It is a beautiful spa. I like the manager's. They are willing to go above and beyond to help my visit be excellent. They are so nice! Fitting me in when I'm late and accommodating my picky requests. I have been going to Tamara's spa for almost two years now. I have gotten massages, facials, and my nails done. Every time I go there, I leave happy. The staff is very friendly, not snooty at all!

I have been to many amazing spas in my life and this one ranks up there with some of the best!!! My hot stone massage was great. I had never gotten a massage with hot stones... what a difference. The facial with Jane was like nothing i've ever felt before. She has magical hands! Over all the spa was beautiful the service was great and the staff was very helpful. I would go back. In fact i tell my husband that is all i want for Christmas or birthday presents!!!

My husband gave me a gift certificate for mothers day last year and i made my appointment immediatly!!! From start to finish- it was amazing! The receptionist was great setting up my appointments so they would run smoothly. My massage w/ Mark was so relaxing i fell asleep in the middle of it. My facial was heaven although i could have used less sqeezing and more massaging. The manicure and pedicure was perfect...i walked out of there like a new woman.I would definately go back...again & again!

but I went anyway because I had a gift certificate. BAD IDEA. My boyfriend had bought me a "mini getaway" package, which included a massage, facial, eyebrow wax, lunch, manicure, and makeup application. The visit started off fine, with a robe and slippers. The 55-minute massage was very good. But the facial was borderline annoying, with the person pushing her products for sale. Then the eyebrow wax took off a layer of my skin! They talked me down from a manicure to a paraffin treatment for my hands (worthless by the way). And then the makeup application made me look like a clown! The lunch was OK - some cheap greek salad that was probably catered in from the local Coney store, with chicken that was too dry. For $235, I would rather have gotten two massages.

I did not have a good experience at this spa. It started from when I booked it to the very end. The team and owner would not work with me to correct the mistake they made. I guess in this economy, they would rather lose a customer and potential loyal customer then give good customer service. I do not recommend this spa.

I have visited more than 6 different spas in last 3 yrs and this was the worst ever.I went to spa with 2 of my friends for 1 hr swedish massage. we were late for 13 min and by the time we changed and started massage it was 25 min past. They never told us that they will deduct that time from our massage, so we just had massage for 30 minutes and when we asked them why they didn't tell that when we sign in that u r late and you will not be getting massage for full hour and BE CHARGED for 1 HR....the staff got in to argument with us..It was so wiered that they compared their spa with movie theater and bus station!!!!people go to spa for relaxation ,not to get inargument. I think they have NO Respect for customers.We left messages for manager twice and no one called us back..If you really want to enjoy spa experience...DON'TGO TO TAMARA.

Located in a shopping plaza, this spa was such a pleasant surprise that I'm reluctant to write of my full experience because it might lead to overcrowding! Suffice it to say, this little gem offers a wide variety of services in a VERY relaxing atmosphere, and the staff (with the exception of Marina - an unhappy nail tech) was focused on ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction. Although there are many spas closer to me - this is the one I'll use from now on.
