This spa is a warm environment where everyone makes you feel like they are happy you are there. They have went through some recent changes and upgrades. Everything is crisp, clean and new. I highly recommend Kevin for a nice massage. I have a hard time finding anyone that can work out my tension and he is great! And he is pleasant and professional.

I would recommend for a day or overnight, not much longer than that - a bit pricey for what the facility offers. Ladies night on a Thursday is definitely worth it!

I have been to this spa a couple of times, hoping that when I go back it will be better. I always take my Mom to spend a mother/ daughter day together. The massage therapists there are not the best. The relaxation lounge is ok, and the front desk staff could be better.

We recently went to the Saybrook Point for a girls spa day. The facilities are beautiful, the staff is very friendly and the restaurant was great. Our only complaint was a bit of a wait (and on our second visit) at the desk. It is clearly a busy place so they should probably staff the desk a bit more. But overall it was a fantastic experience.

Went with husband as a quick winter getaway... Room was wonderful, so spacious, beautifully furnished and comfortable. The one very minor gripe was that despite having a beautiful fireplace there was no way to use it (unless you brought your own firewood I assume...) - but it was not enough of an issue for us to even ask so we may just not have had all the info. Pool / sauna / steam room were functional but not something I would build a whole stay around... nice to get warmed up, swim a few laps and them move on Spa was inviting, beautifully furnished, well appointed in the waiting and changing areas, and the services were excellent. Breakfast / brunch on Sunday was nice, with a good selection and nice surroundings, and served as a perfect ending to this quick recharging escape.

Charged More than Quoted for Room, Breakfast

We were sold a $179 per night bed and breakfast deal, which included a kingsize bed room with fireplace, a bottle of wine nightly and free breakfast both days. This deal was confirmed upon check-in. At checkout, however, the concierge insisted the rate was $250/night and charged as such. Breakfast was listed as being served until 11:30am. We arrived at 10:38am and were told no more breakfast. If they had to they would do bagels. The woman at the desk in the restaurant was fairly rude. Not worth it for the price.

My husband and myself have been coming to Say Brook for several years now. We have been blessed to have met Lisa N who is one of the massage therapist at that spa and she is a god send. She is and expert with her hands now mind you i suffer from many illnesses and actually had to stop my spa services because i was afraid the therapist would hurt me because my body was so sensitve, BUT NOT LISA she is an expert. This mother's day i will be bringing my 70 year old mom to Say Brook and Lisa will be her therapist. I will say the Inn is a great place comfortable rooms, great food, and over all nice atmosphere. There's only one thing that needs improvement and that is the pool area to small and to many kids running around. So if your looking for peace and quiet here forget it. They have a great mothers day brunch and new years gala is wonderdfull. They are nicely decorated for the holidays and pet friendly.

I used to live in Old Saybrook where this spa is located and loved coming here for facials and massages. The staff is great and you get use of the steam room, sauna, and pool afterwards even if your not an overnight guest. I've stayed overnight and the rooms are very cozy. There was a fireplace and a view of the river. I would definitely recommend this spa!

Spa facilities not what you would expect
By GuyFromBoston | March 26, 2008

I would call this place an Inn with spa services, but as it refers itself as an Inn & Spa I would hold it up to a higher standard. The spa facilities, such as the pool, steam room, hot tub & sauna were a joke. My review is based solely on this and not on the spa services, massage and so forth. Our main goal was to use the spa facilities only, so in this respect it was quite a disappointment. The pool, sauna and steam room were all quite small. Everything located in the same room and there were many loud children running around - not a relaxing atmosphere at all, essentially an Inn with a standard hotel pool area, not a spa. The room at the Inn was quite nice. So if you intend to only go for the room (and perhaps a massage) this place is nice, but don't expect true spa facilities.

I went for the 2 day winter getaway with my mother. We both loved it. The staff was extremely pleasant and knowledgable. The rooms were absolutely beautiful. The spa treatments themselves exceeded my expectations. The deep tissue massage was exactly that, and it worked every knot in my body. I previously had a hot stone massage somewhere else, which was awful but decided to try it again at Saybrook, where it was wonderful. The body treatments were wonderful too. I cant wait to visit again!

The 2nd best feeling I have ever felt!

I arrived and was escorted to the locker room where I changed into my robe. First I had a pedicure which was great, but the real pleasure was my 80 minute sports massage by "kevin" (i believe that was his name) - He has the hands of a God and found all my knots and really worked them out. Since then its all I can think about to come back. I left feeling so relaxed and invigorated at the same time. Kevin gave my best friend a massage right after me and even he stated that Kevin gives a great massage! I can't wait to come back

Ordinary Spa Factory
By CTSpaLover | November 21, 2006

The Saybrook Point Spa is your typical run-of-the-mill "spa factory". I was excited when I received a gift certificate from a friend to the Saybrook Point Spa... I love Conecticut's shore and had such wonderful images of what my day would be like. My fiance and I decided to make a weekend out of it and stayed at their inn. The staff at the inn was very pleasant and the acomodations were charming. Unfortunatly I can not say the same for our spa experience. Both my fiance and I felt rushed from the moment we walked in. At one point I asked the esthetician who was performing my facial (while she was chomping on gum) if she could do a quick eyebrow wax and she actually said in a frustrated tone, "Well I guess, but I'll have to cut a few minutes off your facial". She then left me in the room with a mask on for almost 20 minutes, she rushed back in the room in a hurry to get me out of there and her hands smelled of food, I could tell she used my mask time as a lunch break. The woman who performed my pedicure informed me I still had mask on my face from th facial, she was polite enough to hand me a mirror and a cloth to remove it. To make matters worse my fiance found a dirty Kleenex in the sheets of his massage bed. We were both able to hear people talking outside the treatment rooms... it was very disrupting to say the least. The receptionist was on a personal phone call when I wanted to ask a question and she told me to wait a moment, she then continued to finish finish her conversation! At this point I knew this place was VERY poorly managed. Overall, the two of us found the entire experience disapointing. It's a shame since the location is amazing.
