With island-style décor, lemongrass aromatherapy, and the soothing sound of music and water, Awa is a place to address the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of your life. The 75-minute Pampered Pedicure, one of the spa's signature treatments, begins with a foot soak in lemon lime and tea tree oils, followed by an exfoliation with the spa's custom-blended lemongrass and basalt scrub. A warm herbal ball is then rolled over the feet and calves to stimulate the senses. Before and after treatments, you can unwind in the sauna or the men's or women's relaxation room.Location

I have been here many times. I have enjoyed the facials here and the microderm. However the massage I booked was very dissapointing. I have a lot of experience getting massages by quite skilled people. The gal who massaged me was truly no better than if I were trying to massage myself. I really felt she was just PUSHING and PULLING at me the whole time. She worked certain areas on my body for so long that I felt rubbed raw. I also did not think she used any technique at all, just pushing at my flesh and pulling. She did not try to work my muscles or to make me better in any way. I thought about complaining, but don't want to put someone out of their job. Still, my advice is to get a massage elsewhere.

I consider myself an avid spa goer. But my experience at Awa surpassed all others. It is not a very big spa, which is what made the experience absolutely wonderful. I was not just another number in the shuffling of clients. I felt that the staff took care of my every need. For its size, I found that it offered me all the luxury and pampering I needed. From the slippers and robe I changed into to the refreshing tonic that the receptionist offered me prior to my service The Facial treatment was the best. The easthetician (who happened to be the owner) gave me a very personalilzed and pampering facial. She was incredibly knowledgeable and perceptive.

This must have been the fastest and least painful Brazilian Wax I have ever done. I searched for a while to find a place in Tampa that uses Hard waxes and I FINALLY found AWA. The get an A+++++ from me.

For Mother's day, my husband and kids gave me a gift certificate from Awa. I was eager to try this spa out. My spa package included a Facial, Massage, Manicure and Pedicure. I have recently visited a very prestigeous spa in New York city, but the facial I received at Awa was so much more amazing. It was not just a gentle facial, it was a relaxing experience. I felt incredibly relaxed during the treatment and skin has never looked better. The Esthetician had to wake me up from the dream state I was in. The girl that did my Manicure and Pedicure was an absolute delight. I loved the choice of tonic that she offered me before starting the treatment. She massaged my legs and my feet, and was very detailed with the nail treatment, which I needed badly. And the SCENTS..... how beautiful !! I choose a rose and peppermint scent that was to die for. I did not want to leave.....

The parking was difficult. The atmosphere was quite nice and relaxing. Pedicurist talks a little much, but did a wonderful job. Very serene. I go for stress releif and the experience was worth it. Moderate pricing and friendly staff will make me go again.

I frequent area spas testing out their capabilities as well as thier "signature" features in order to determine quality vs. price vs. other area spas. I did the Awa Wellness Massage, and was quite dissapointed that it did not live up to my expectations. While the therapist was decent, the massage had no real focal point and at times was uncomfortable. The scalp massage was overlooked completely and my head was never touched. While she did massage my face i couldn't help but focus on the smell of cigarrettes vested into her fingers. I think as far as the general massage goes it was average, the tension in my shoulders and neck were not well attended to. I did not feel renewed or relaxed upon leaving, just annoyed at the amount of money i spent for what i recieved.

I feel that I must give an honest opinion. Considering that this is one of the higher priced day spas in the area, the service and staff were decidedly under par. The receptionist complained to me about other customers. I found this to be highly inappropriate. The therapist who gave me the massage was extremely rude and unfriendly. I went for a prenatal massage and was told that using the pregnancy pillow would "be a waste of his time" so I was forced to lay on my side (very uncomfortable and defeated the purpose of getting the massage in the first place). I would recommend that you find another spa and not waste your money/time at this one. I left with a stiff neck and a backache worse than the one I had had previously. Extremely disappointing.
