    Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch sits on 27 acres of flowering cacti and colonnades of palm trees, with the McDowell Mountains and desert landscape as its backdrop. With its striking natural setting and wide variety of amenities, ranging from a 2.5-acre aquatic playground to 27 holes of championship golf, the 493-room resort caters to all types of travelers, from families to couples to business clients.

    Additional resort amenities include the Native American Learning Center, a kids' camp, extensive conference venues—one of which accommodates up to 1,800—and the spacious Spa Avania, which features garden treatment areas, plunge pools, a fitness center, and a salon. Inspired by natural light, treatments are designed to reflect the sunlight levels at different times of the day.

Personalized, holistic treatments at the 21,000-square-foot Spa Avania (meaning tranquil in Greek) are inspired by natural light, music, diet, exercise, and the body clock: energizing treatments for morning, balancing and rejuvenating ones for midday, and calming ones for evening. Spa interiors feature volcanic stone water sculptures, black granite, earth slate, and cherry woods, and hues of sage green, sand, and bronze. There are 19 treatment rooms, including the couple’s Avania Suite, which comprises a private patio with whirlpool, rain shower, private restroom, and indoor shower; there is also a beauty salon, sauna, steam area, and hot and cold plunges at this artful indoor/outdoor oasis. A full menu of calming, hydrating and anti-aging facials, clay and Monticelli mud wraps, and massage modalities such as hot stone, sports, Thai and reflexology is available to help create a spa experience choreographed to the body’s ideal timing.

The 24-hour fitness center features LifeFitness equipment with built-in LCD workout displays and digital TV monitors, and private and group exercises classes are offered. Music plays underwater in the outdoor coed heated pool, which contains French Celtic minerals, and the spa's serene outdoor spaces also include a lotus pond, a cascading waterfall, and a trellis-covered relaxation area.

Spa Avania has to be Arizona's best kept secret. Everytime I visit, It gets better. One of the very few places that give authentic Thai massage. The spa staff never fail to amaze me with their warmth and kindness, they treat you like you are a regular client even on your first visit. I love Comfort Zone and the Hydramemory facial makes me look so hydrated and fresh. Can't say enough about this spa, it is exactly what a spa should feel like. A must!

My experience here was hands down the most amazing spa experience I've ever had. I travel regularly, staying mostly at 4 and 5 star properties, and I often visit the spa - none compare to Spa Avania. The staff is knowledgeable and experienced and the service itself was stellar but the facilities - including outdoor showers and a mineral pool - are what really set this spa apart from others. When booking your service be sure to plan for plenty of extra time to experience everything this spa has to offer for yourself!

We've done 2 girls trips in the summer to the Hyatt Gainey and each time we have hit the spa. This spa is hands down one of the best in Scottsdale. Everyone loved all their services, from facials to massages. The ammenities are some of the best I've experienced in spas. love the mineral pool and calm quietness of being able to lounge by the pool that is not so crazy as the outdoor pool can get...sometimes you just need a break. The water in the mineral pool really is different. The outdoor showers are wonderful. If you are staying at the Hyatt or near...I highly recommend hitting this spa.

Spa Avania is everything that a spa should be - every detail is taken care of, from beautiful facilities throughout, pitchers of waters flavored with incredible natural ingredients based on the time of day (the ginger mint in the afternoon is my favorite) , down to the "menu" for you to choose the music theme that will be played during the treatment. The quality of the treatments surpasses the quality of the facilities. I have had many massages in many different spas, and the mineral massage at this spa is one of the best that I have experienced. Inclusion of gentle motion into the massage takes the experience to another level. This spa is completely worth the price.
