DHA react with proteins and amino acids in the outer skin layer of skin, producing a golden brown color. The maximum color is reached within 3-4 hours, so the color continue to darken after the initial application. There is no damage to the underlying living layers of skin, and there are no long-term dangers that can be associated with the sun. This healthy tan goes beautifully over an existing tan and can even out or eliminate any tan lines, if you wish. This is a great option for the fair-of-skin who have difficulty tanning - who might never know what it's like to be a true sun goddess!
