My cousin and I took our mom's for a surprise birthday weekend to savannah. We had originally scheduled with another spa that 3 days before we were to go told us they could not accomidate our 4 month reservation. We called Sweet water at the last minute, not only did they fit us in the went above and beyond what we expected and we found out that is normal for them. We had the most wonderfully relaxing day. Our moms we so happy. Next time we are in Savannah we are going back!

Wow, I have had massages in many places; but, who could have guessed this little hidden away spa had the best therapist I have had. We decided to go to Savannah on a spontaneous vacation weekend and found this little spa while walking in the historic district. It was absolutely beautiful, quaint and the service was excellent. Want to move in and live at this spa. We will be back.

My visit to the Sweet Water Spa was fabulous, from the moment I arrived until I left. Since then, my experience was so great that I am telling everyone I see to make an appointment as soon as they can! I knew that I was going to the right spa when I called to make my appointment. The atmosphere is splendid, most relaxing, and the skills of the staff are excellent. Call right away! Guys - Valentine's Day is around the corner. Call them for a gift certificate for your special girl!!!

I was in town visiting Savannah and I found Sweet Water spa on Spa Finder. I loved the decor of the antique chandeliers and fireplaces. I got a hot stone massage & I told my therapist that my shoulder blades were really bothering me, she did an awesome job. My back feels so much better. The spa pedicure really was lacking. I had a spa pedicure a month ago so I really expecting a nice one here. The nail technician barely used that much foot bask to cover my feet and the foot massage was so so to say the least. I could have gone to a neighborhood place at a strip mall and paid $20 but I figured I would treat myself since I was in Savannah. Overall, I would go back for a massage if I visited again and maybe even a facial but definitely not a pedicure.

I expect that my pedicurists do an outstanding job with the services they provide. We are trying to identify this client. A significant credit will be given her for her pedicure. And our contractors will be again advised as to what is expected. We usually receive rave reviews regarding our pedicures. Contractors are not to take short cuts. Hopefully this was a one time situation that will be remedied. We thank the client for their input. Nikki, Owner

Deceptive Advertising Left Me Feeling Ripped Off

My husband and I visited this spa on Jan. 9 for my birthday, and it was fine (not bad; not amazing; fine.) The staff was friendly and although they started 15 minutes late, the massages were good. When I went to settle the tab with the cashier, however, the cost of services was 18% more than advertised.
The company's website lists hot stone massages as $85 each, but I was charged $100 per massage (a $200 total, instead of the $170 I had expected.) I told the cashier that I was unhappy that the website listed one price and I was being asked to pay another; she blamed the owner, who had changed the prices in their computer system but not updated the website while working remotely in New Mexico. "She gets bored out there and messes around with the computer system." This was the explanation I got. Then she asked me to pay up (no apology or offer to honor the web price.)
When we got to the car, my husband asked if I had been offered the 10% discount for locals his therapist had told him about. Though we had told the cashier and our therapists we were locals, we did not receive a discount.
This business need to get its staff on the same page about pricing. I left feeling ripped off, and I can't say I'll return.

As the owner, I apologize to this client. We have an older website that was supposed to be deleted by the company monitoring the site. For a year, we have had a new website. www.spasweetwater.com Our prices were recently changed on our rack card now being printed. We receive the rack cards this week. So, I am not sure whether the client was looking at the old site or not. Our prices are lower than other spas and if you review Spafinder, our prices are considered on the lower end of the scale for spas across America. Spas have high overhead and if our suppliers raise their prices, we must as well. All food supplied by the spa are gratis and not covered by our service revenue. The contractors at my spa are paid at a very high rate. The client should have been identified as a local and if there is a discrepancy in what is shown, the lower price will be honored. As for the comment that I get bored in New Mexico, there is nothing boring about Santa Fe. And I have a business out here as well. I have not touched the prices from afar. This client will be credited with whatever discounts are relative. We pride ourselves on customer service. Of course, I always feel bad when situations happen. Nikki, the owner.

I went to Spa Finder knowing that while we were on vacation the girls would need to have a message. I was connected to Sweet Water Spa, and believe me it was something special! A real treat that made our trip to Savannah something we would always remember. The Service is just unbelieveable, they just could not do enough to make my friend Tobi and I happy!...We were greeted with a very warm Hello from Christopher, and made to feel confortable right from the start..the Message was so relaxing, our compliments to all the employees who work there, everyone should get a raise! Were back in Jersey with "Such wonderful memories" of Savannah" Hospitality Plus!

This is not a legitimate review. No one with this name is on our schedule. Of course there is someone in charge. This spa has been under attack for quite awhile by a competitor. Sinage from the competitive spa was placed directly across the street facing our door and we have had a few questionable bad reviews. If it is legit then we accept full responsibility. When reading reviews of any spa, a good way to see if a review is legitimate is to see how long a spa has been open. Several spas have been open for five years or longer. And in these five years they have a specific number of reviews. If a spa is open for a very short time and they have an immense number of reviews, question the source of those reviews. It takes a long time to obtain reviews. The public is smart and I have been relieved by their sophistication. These brief but meanspirited reviews are absolutely wrong and unprofessional. This competitor needs to stop obsessing about this spa and focus on their own operations. At no time would I compromise my integrity to injure another spa or a specific person at that spa by writing a poisonness review. I wish the spas in Savannah well no matter who owns them and there are plenty of customers for everyone. When I left another spa after working there four years, I did not contact one of my clients who were given to me by that spa. It was their advertising and their clients. If someone found me then super and fair. It may not be the agressive way to build clients but it is the right and honorable way to do business. Owner, Sweet Water Spa

Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile. And offered mimosas. It was so hot outside and we were so appreciative of the many offers of water. We each had two spa treatments. I had a massage from a young woman from Finland. I am a massage fan and I have to say her style of massage was amazing. And the facial was just as wonderful. The owner popped in while my friend was having a pedicure and my friend said she has such a great sense of humor and is really fun to be around. We left relaxed, pampered and know that we will return on our next visit to Savannah. Sweet Water Staff, thanks so much for making our visit the best to be had.

My friend was in town from Ohio, and we decided to get massages before she left - to send her on her way relaxed. I have been to this spa four or five times before, and I always liked that it was a quaint little place in a historical building within walking distance of other things I like to do and see. In the past, I have taken relatives and friends there, and we have always thoroughly enjoyed it. They usually offer mimosas or wine and snacks and allow clients to relax in a small sitting area prior to going upstairs for treatments. I am seven months pregnant, so I would have obviously declined on the mimosas this visit, but my friend probably would have liked one.
This was not the case yesterday, when my friend and I arrived. When we got there, the two massage therapists were standing outside, because the doors were locked. They had been trying to call the owner for several minutes. We all four waited a few more minutes and made a couple more phone calls, but no one could get anyone on the phone. So, one therapist suggested that we walk down the street and have tea, and she'd call to reschedule our appointments when someone arrived to let us all in.
This was frustrating. Like I mentioned, I am seven months pregnant (with twins), and we've been having 100 degree weather. So, walking a few blocks in the heat and getting all sweaty and hot before a massage was not enjoyable. Also, I had really built this place up to my friend.
After we got to the coffee shop, ordered our tea and were just about to sit down, the massage therapist called and said that the owner was coming up. She told us to come back. So, we downed our beverages and walked back. At this point, we're sweating and annoyed. When we got there, no explanation was offered as to why all of this happened. We were given some water and sent upstairs for our massages.
If I were rating this just on the massage itself and on my massage therapist, I would give it a 5. She was truly wonderful. She was very apologetic about what happened, even though it was not her fault. I had the prenatal massage, and she made sure I was very comfortable - surrounded by pillows - and that the pressure was just right at all times. It was very relaxing, and she was fantastic.
The hour spent upstairs getting the massage was wonderful, and my friend couldn't say enough nice things about her therapist. We were both very happy with that part of the experience.
However, upon returning downstairs, we were asked to go into the office right away, rather than having any time to sit in the sitting area. Again, no beverages were offered. We paid (the owner did take off 10 percent - about $7), and we were sort of rushed out. Meanwhile, two employees were sitting in the sitting area eating their lunches. We felt like we were rushed in and out and had no time to sort of sit and relax before going on about our day.
It's a shame that I have gone from thinking this place is a wonderful little spot to take out-of-town guests and local friends to deciding to find another spa to go to. I won't be going back. There are other spas in Savannah and the surrounding area that I will try. One experience like that is enough to put a bad taste in your mouth. I will take my business elsewhere.
I just received a spafinder gift certificate, and I will be trying another Savannah spa - Spa Bleu.

We opened in Nov. of 05 and we have had approximately 35 reviews, the majority of them are exceptionally good. And admittedly we had something happen on this day that we wish did not happen. On this particular day, the owner had to take someone to the airport and notified the first therapist to be in the night before. The therapist could not open the PC program to access the schedule and had to go upstairs to provide services to a client. The therapists who tried to open the door did not have keys, so they were locked out for 15 minutes. They tried to advise the clients to go for a beverage at a nearby place. Given the weather, it would have been a better idea to have them wait in the comfort of their car for the 15 minutes. The clients were both discounted 10 percent. We did not mean to rush them and that was not our intent. There is not a break room for the therapists. We are expanding and a break room will be available. We are sorry that this happened and the clients will be again contacted. We ask our therapists to offer water after services. We will work diligently to assure that this doesn't happen again. Given that the client has been to us before and has had quite a few great experiences, it seems that the client would have discussed this with the owner. I have always gone far beyond expectations to right situations. We are fortunate that they happen infrequently. And we accept responsibility when they do. We are glad that your treatments were good. You mentioned that you will try Spa Bleu. Spa Bleu has several of our former contractors and of course they learned from us and some even studied under our instructors. During their time here and even at present, there wasn't and isn't a spa that exists in the world that doesn't have a poor review at times. And over the 5 years there wasn't a team at my spa who was better than the new team I have now. The team I have on board now has the best experience of any team I have had and they have worked all over the world. I now have a massage therapist who worked at the Venetian in Las Vegas. When an error is made, It is the human factor and there isn't an owner that doesn't feel remorse. The Sweet Water Spa has always taken the high road, when we drop the ball, we never blame anyone else on it. We accept the responsibility, try to make it right and wish you will forgive us and give us another try. However, we wish you a wonderful experience no matter where you choose to go.

I'm a writing a brief review of the Sweetwater Spa in Savannah Ga. I had a great experience there, receiving a facial plus TLC. Everything completely relaxing and as warm as an emotional bath. The care there was highly skilled and professional,
yet personal and like being with friends. At another time I was fortunate to meet the
owner. She is both fun loving and very knowledgeable. She's a caring person and
obviously values providing a total environment that is beautiful, healthy, and life enriching! Plus the location is in Old Savannah near one of the beautiful parks and near shopping as well. Treat yourself sometime !

I have only had a facial at this delicious location, but I certainly will go back for my next one. The facial was outstanding and took well over an hour. I didn't give a star rating this time b/c this is just an update to a review I left previously based on a terrible experience I had at this spa last month. After I wrote the review, I was contacted by the owner. Seems they are in the middle of a staff transition and on the day I was there the owner was scrambling to find contractors to fill booked appointments that she could not take due to a broken foot. As for Sandy...well...she WAS rude and unprofessional during my mani/pedi, but she may not have been herself: tooth pain is the worst!!
I can't really give a glowing review b/c my experience was awful. What I CAN say is that the owner went out of her way to track me down and did the only thing she could do to make it right since she obviously can't go back in time: she refunded my money AND gave me a gift certificate to try them again. The gift certificate was really above and beyond the call of duty. Anyone can have a bad day and unfortunately I was there for it. I rarely get to Savannah, but when I do, I will give them another chance! Thanks Niki (owner)!

I recently again visited the Sweetwater Spa in Savannah, GA. I was assisted by Sandy - who is a true professional and provided excellent customer care. My experence was wonderful, professional and a truely relaxing highlight to my day. The spa is very clean and beautifully appointed. Sandy's service was excellent. I cannot speak highly enough about the spa and Sandy. If you have not recently tried Sweetwater Spa and Sandy for a pedicure, facial or any other service, I would highly recommend that you book an appointment soon.

Upon arrival at this spa, I was treated like a queen. The staff waited on me hand and foot. They had complimentary gourmet refreshments and choice of champagne, wine, or mimosa. The atmosphere was very clean and comfortable; I felt at home. The therapist were very down to earth and gave me great recommendations for my visit to Savannah. My massage by Paula was the best I ever had, and Sandy gave me great advice of how to take care of my skin during my facial. I had the rejuvenation day package and was served lunch during my pedicure with Tiffany who was lovely. Overall, I must say that this was one of the best spa experiences I ever had - hands down!!!

My friends gave me a spa day for my birthday. It has been a rough year and I needed it. First of all, the spa could not be more charming in its' decor and the lovely atmosphere it creates. Secondly, the owner who did my facial is experienced, gentle and as delightful as trhe spa itself. We chatted but if I had wanted silence she would have taken the hint. The massage was superb as was the spa lunch. I definitely felt totally spoiled and cannot recommend this spa enough. I have been to others in Savannah but none so charming.

I booked a spa package based on all the glowing reviews I found here.
Unfortunately my experience was terrible. The staff was not welcoming, they seemed like they would rather be anywhere else but at work. They were very disorganized.
The best part was the massage, even though it got off to a rocky start, but I enjoyed it by the end.
During my facial, Sandy would NOT stop talking! I like to relax during my facial and not have to make small talk, but she would ask me questions (that she didn't really want to hear the answers) and when I would try to answer she would get exfoliation scrub/lotion in my mouth!! Then during my manicure and pedicure she actually looked at my nails and said "Eww!!" (No I don't take very good care of my nails, which was why I was there, but no fungus or anything gross!)And then started talking about how much she hates giving manicures and pedicures!! It was incredibly unprofessional.
My package was supposed to include lunch, but it was never served. My mani/pedi was supposed to include a massage on each hand/foot and a paraffin treatment. I never received any of that. I was the only one there, folks. It can't be chalked up to not enough therapists or being too busy. Absolutely unacceptable.
Perhaps it was just a bad day, and had the owner/manager been there I doubt any of this would have happened, but it did.
I spent a lot of money to listen to Sandy talk about her 28 year old boyfriend, how she owned her own spa for 18 years and is the best at everything, and her abscessed teeth. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

Of course reading this is disappointing from an owner's standpoint because we work very hard to provide amazing spa experiences. And 99.9 percent we deliver. We are in a state of complete transition. We have a totally new team. Some members of the former team are opening their own spa. The details, knowledge regarding owner/manager and timing of this are just unusual. And Monday and Tuesday are slower days but the desk staff was present and is empowered to make decisions. I would think that a client would speak up to request the time when her lunch would be served. As well, if I were a client, I would also ask about what is included should I observe I was missing a part of my treatment. I will say that Sandy had been to the dentist and was on medication but needed to work. Perhaps the medication had some impact on her answering some questions. I have never heard of Sandy saying "Eeeeu as she is not a squeaky kind of person. But she would notice a condition and suggest to the client that they see a medical person. Sandy usually gives 100 percent and on her first day working for us she made a $100 tip. She often makes $40 tips. Sandy also works for another top end spa, actually the most expensive in Savannah and receives raving reviews there. We have ten therapists who as in most other spas are independent contractors, meaning they often work privately or for a number of spas. What happened to the day when there was a request to speak with the owner? I will reimburse this client totally and as well give her a gift certificate for another visit should she consider giving us another chance. We appreciate the client's approval of our atmosphere and absolutely want to do what is right in this case.

My daughter and I recently visited the spa and we were very happy with our experience! We have been to Savannah several times and usually go to another spa, but this time we wanted to try something new. After seeing how great the reviews were, we thought we'd give Sweet Water Spa a try and we couldn't have been happier.. Basically if you are looking for an elegant, southern experience with real hospitality, then this is the place to go. It's easy to miss on the outside (we got a little lost looking for it), but inside it is like stepping into old Savannah with elaborate molding and marble fireplaces. Gorgeous! We both got a hot stone massage, facial, and pedicure and were VERY pleased with the quality of service. By far the best hot stone massage I've ever had.. Even the lunch they served us was amazing.. We will definitely be back!

I always go to Sweet Water Spa when I'm in Savannah. There's so much to do in the city that I enjoy a little downtime and Sweet Water is the perfect place to relax and be pampered. I can't believe someone would say they are not conscientious about disinfecting their tools because they always use germicide and alcohol in between clients. I am always at ease with all of their techniques and services and will continue to go everytime I'm in town. They are the best as far as I'm concerned!

my mother recently traveled down from new york to visit with me here in savannah.
she and i always like to do a mother / daughter mani&pedi so, last minute, i called around to see which of the spas in the area had available time.
sweet water spa did happen to have time available for a service and we happily ventured over.
the spa was beautiful and our manicurist was quite nice but my mother and i found it slightly disturbing that she used the same treatment equipment on both of us - equally and at the same time.
we let this slight health disturbance slide because we are mother and daughter, but typically, a spa should provide steralized and SEPERATE tools for each of their appointments, regardless of their association.
this little (gross) matter kind of overshadowed our whole experience and while the staff was rather pleasant, we found this incident rather disturbing to the point that i will probably not return - regardless of the procedure i request.

Reply from: Sweet Water Spa - Terme Acqua Dolce
I have a health care background and I am the owner. We always use hospital grade disinfectant to clean our equipment and we have high standards regarding equipment and tools. It is difficult for an owner to stand over an employee constantly; but, their education in school advocates correct technques. And as an owner you have to trust your staff that they know and use what they have learned. I wish the manager had an opportunity to have heard this before it landed on spafinder. Because the staff is very consciencious regarding proper technique. We have never had a complaint before in this area and we have been open for five years. We always want to strive for perfection. I appreciate the client's feedback.

My friend and I spent an afternoon at the Sweet Water Spa and could not have asked for a better experience. We fell in love with the beautiful decor, the expert service, and the absolutely wonderful, warm, and friendly staff! We had never been to Savannah before and yet felt as if these women were old friends. The massages and manicures/pedicures were fantastic and the mimosas were delicious, but the relaxed and fun atmosphere of the spa were definitely the icing on the cake. I would recommend this spa to anyone wanting a truly rejuvenating and pampering experience, and look forward to visiting Savannah and enjoying this spa again!

I will be turning 50 and my most wonderful girlfriend treated me to not only a phenomenal weekend in Savannah but to a delightful afternoon at Sweet Water Spa. We walked in from a beautiful Savannah day to be carried away to Venice. The decor is luxurious, mimosas cold and bubbly and pampering to die for! Katie, Lynn and Morgan - Thank you so much! Thank you Christine for recommending this amazing place!

My husband surprised me with a gift certificate to the Sweet Water Spa for our anniversary trip to Savannah. The decor is great! I had a facial and a pedicure. The pedicure was fabulous. The facial was one of the best I have ever had! My esthetician really took her time to make sure everything was perfect. I am looking forward to another trip to Savannah to visit Sweet Water Spa again!

Terme Acqua Dolce (aka Sweetwater Spa) offers friendly and very competent service in massages, facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures, as well as personalized cosmetics application. The estheticians are genuinely welcoming. Pedicure baths and all utensils are kept scrupulously clean. My daughter and I have enjoyed all of the spa services, and look forward to our next appointments. The spa freely provides a delightful variety of up to date magazines to read, a wonderful array of dark and milk chocolate, cheeses, fruit and crackers to nibble, and coffee, teas, wine, and mimosas to quaff for customers receiving spa services. Prices are most reasonable. The only two downsides are (1) if more than four clients are in the downstairs area, space is cramped and (2) if you are seeking a haircut or spray tan, these are not offered (although an esthetician has informed me that the spa is ordering spray tanning equipment). Terme Acqua Dolce is far more pleasant than the "mass-production" spas with which it competes in Savannah.

This is a wonderful spa located in historic downtown Savannah. The atmosphere was so peaceful and the spa itself is so very quaint, much like the rest of Savannah. I really enjoyed their facials, one of the best I've ever had!!

My daughter and I spent a long weekend in Savannah and spent half a day at Sweetwater! The staff was wonderful and very professional and we enjoyed our entire experience. First we had our mud wraps -- it was so relaxing and made our skin feel fabulous. Then we had massages and facials. My daughter also had a spa pedicure. We felt relaxed and pampered the whole time. We had lunch while we were there and I had a glass of wine while I was relaxing. The decor is beautiful and you feel like a queen in a Venetian palace. This is definitely a place to visit while your hubby is off doing something else or a destination for the girls on your trip!

I booked the Rejuvenation Day as a Christmas present for myself, and I most definitely left completely rejuvenated. The staff were very friendly as soon as I walked in the door. The facial was amazing. I've had facials before, but this time the extraction was as relaxing as the rest of the process. The massage I received was absolutely wonderful. And my pedicure and manicure were perfect. The lunch provided to me was delicious. I have absolutely no complaints. I will be recommending the Sweet Water Spa to everyone I know, and I will be getting gift certificates for my friends for Christmas or birthdays. I love this spa!!!

I went to Savannah for a girls weekend and wanted to visit a spa. After looking a spas all over Savannah we decided on Sweet Water. It couldn't have been better. We walked in and fell in love with the decor. We even chatted with the owner for a while until they were ready for our treatments. Both of us had a facial and a massage. Both were fantastic. I have had facials before, but I believe this may have been the best one I have ever received. My massage was also fantastic - it ranks up there as well.
Thanks again!

This spa was like was wallking into a comforting home. You are greeted at the door with a warm welcome and a drink. While waiting for my service I was so relaxed I nearly fell asleep. My mother and I had massages both of our therapists were amazing and all the rooms in this southern style spa were beautiful. I highly recommend this spa as wonderful, relaxing and well worth the experience.

The first question I was asked -- do you want a mimosa?
That should tell you quite a bit!
I started out with an incredibly relaxing custom massage. Then moved on to the beginning of my deep pore facial. The staff was incredibly responsive to all my needs and explained what they were doing and offered lots of helpful advice.
But the best part of all was the back facial!!!! Oh, what a feeling. After the back facial they finished up with my face facial.
They took more time than was originally planned (no complaints from me) because they said they wanted to make sure I had a good experience. I DID!
The highlight was definitely the back facial. My back has NEVER felt so good, and the feeling lasted many hours afterward.
I've been to plenty of spas, and this one is so Savannah. As a former resident I really appreciated the hospitality and comfort I felt while I was there. I truly felt like I was home again.

I recently went to Savannah for a fun and relaxing weekend and found this great spa! All of the staff was friendly, especially the woman at the front desk. Niki, the aesthetician, done an excellent job and made my skin look new. My pedicurist, Sandy, put me into dreamland for almost an hour. The whole experience made my weekend even better than I could have imagined. I will definitely book more time at Sweet Water Spa next time I'm in Savannah!

We were visiting Savannah for the first time. We were delighted to find this exceptional spa. Everyone was exceedingly professional and the spa treatments were absolutely wonderful. The spa's decor has an old world feeling. It reminded me of Europe. The food was excellent and the five of us are planning to come to Savannah again. And the Sweet Water Spa will definitely be a stop.

I have been going since they opened.
i think "I don't have the time" but once I get there I find I do have the time, take your time and enjoy your visit. These guys really know how to pamper and there is no rushing here. They are expanding upstairs and I know business is good.
Look for the red/yellow flag over the door. Beware though, this is not a rush-through place. So relax....really. Watch out for the wonderful chocolates everywhere......

I rush all week; when I go to a spa, I want to relax. I often feel stressed racing to an appointment so that my service won't be trimmed. The Sweet Water Spa is just the opposite. They budget additional time between clients so that you don't feel hurried. I wish more spas were like Terme Acqua Dolce!

This is a warm, wonderful spa--more like Sweet Magnolia's (the movie, not the flower) than your usual spa. It's new in town, but I suspect that Sweet Water will become THE place to share information, in a town known for sharing information, if you know what I mean. ;-)
Highly recommended for visitor's/newcomers who want to know what Savannah is all about. Get a pedicure from Ruby; she might just turn your life around if you're smart enough to take her advice. The woman has lived large. Oh! And you'll get to see what nature intended your feet to look like for the first time in years.

Sweet Water Spa was an amazing experience! The spa is elegant, upscale and very personal. I have been to spas in Vegas and Bahamas but never have I recieved treatment as personal and as attenttive to my every need. I was greeted at the door with hospitality and was able to relax in a plush, comfortable surrounding. The services were of the highest quality. I left feeling renewed. And the mimosas are delicious!
