About Red Door Spa at The Wigwam Resort
Entwined with Arizona history for more than 80 years, The Wigwam invites guests to visit and make a little history of their own. Stretching over more than 400 lushly landscaped acres, the elegantly crafted adobe-and-timber resort provides a rich palette of experiences designed to suit every occasion — whether business, romance, relaxation or rollicking family fun. From dawn’s first blush to the tangerine streaks of the Sonoran Desert sunsets, each day at The Wigwam aims at being awash in possibility.
The 331-room resort features: three championship golf courses — including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.; nine tennis courts; four swimming pools with a 25-foot water slide; a luxury spa and fitness center; award-winning dining; 48,000 square feet of indoor meeting space with 25 unique meeting rooms and outdoor meeting space that spans more than five acres.

Services
Opened in May 2006, the Red Door Spa awakens the senses with vibrant Southwestern-style decor that mirrors the adobe-style architecture of Wigwam's other facilities. Slate floors, fine wood furnishings, and a color scheme that emphasizes vivid shades of red provide a spa-appropriate, sophisticated slant on the property's overarching design concept. The 26,000-square-foot spa features 16 elegant treatment rooms.
Signature treatments include the Wigwam Warm Water Ritual, a series of four treatments incorporating ingredients indigenous to the American Southwest. A Sage Foot Bath is accompanied by a cleansing cup of blackberry sage tea and followed by a detoxifying clay and cornmeal body wrap. Sage oil hydrotherapy and an unrushed Desert Sage Aroma Massage complete the experience.
The resort's fitness and movement studio has a full complement of weight training and cardiovascular equipment as well as space for regularly held aerobics classes. Three swimming pools - one located behind the main lodge, one in a serene courtyard, and a lap pool at the Red Door Spa - offer a variety of ways to cool off and work out.

Rooms & Dining
Wigwam's 331 traditional Southwestern-style accommodations are housed in one-story casitas adorned with Native American artifacts and contemporary Southwestern furnishings. Earth tones and desert hues dominate the decor in eye-pleasing contrast to the verdant gardens and colorful flora that surround the guest quarters. Guest rooms feature up to 600 square feet (56 square meters) of space as well as either one king-sized bed or two double beds. Romantic deluxe suites offer as much as 5,000 square feet (465 square meters) and an array of luxury amenities including whirlpools, fireplaces, and living areas.
Cuisine at the resort ranges from country club fare to Southwestern favorites. Arizona Kitchen (recipient of AAA's Four Diamond award) offers fine dining influenced by regional traditions served in an elegant, intimate atmosphere. Breakfast is available every day of the week, and the Kitchen is open for dinner every evening except Sunday. A casual American menu is offered at Grille on the Greens, which boasts a stunning view of the golf course. The Pool Cabana Grille prepares light poolside snacks every afternoon.
A Starbucks coffee shop can be found in the hotel lobby, while alcoholic beverages are available until one a.m. every night at the Kachina Lounge/Copper Bar.

Activities
Wigwam Golf Resort and Spa's three championship 18-hole golf courses are a main attraction at this desert oasis. Though the property's first golf course appeared in 1930, recently renovated golf facilities cater to the expectations of the 21st-century luxury traveler. Wigwam Blue challenges players with quirky fairways that are less than 330 yards from the tee as well as an island green. More conservative linksmen and -women should try the highly praised Gold Course, which features slim fairways and elevated tees. Comprehensive practice facilities and the Jim McLean Golf School help guests sharpen their skills.
Adults can take advantage of the on-site tennis courts or indulge in spa treatments while children have fun at the playground. A kids' club involves children in organized and supervised activities.
Nearby, river rafting, jeep tours, and nature excursions allow guests to explore the natural beauty of the American Southwest. Nature lovers may want to pay a visit to the pristine desert landscape of Estrella Mountain Regional Park, just a short drive from the resort. More than 33 miles (53 kilometers) of gentle and demanding trails are available at the Park for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.
