All of the Airbrush Technician's at Shear Bliss use a turbine  (low pressure) sunless systems to create the most even and natural looking tan. Another advantage to using this type of systems is the availability to choose the level or darkness of your tan. By adding DHA to the solution, customers can receive the tan they desire in less then 15 minutes. Apply a daily moisturizer with DHA in it and you will keep this natural looking tan even longer. We always suggest the client get the airbrush tan done one day in advance of any special occasion. The DHA chemical is a CLEAR solution which reacts with the skin. DHA is a food derivative so it is completely harmless. The bronzing ingredients are also food derivatives - usually a walnut or sugar cane base which is what gives the solution it's color. It is the DHA which reacts with the skin to create the tan color within 12 hours. The bronzing solution wears off quickly which is why we suggest clients come with loose fitting clothes. A bronzer can be eliminated in the solution to prevent any clothes discoloration but then it makes it more difficult to ensure an even tan. This would be like asking an artist to paint a picture with the colors to appear after they were done. The bronzing part of the solution allows the technician to apply the solution evenly. Controlled amounts of DHA are added to the solution for the level of darkness desired by the client. Since dry areas of the skin absorb more solution it is important that the technician be able to see this and even out the surface area. There is a science and a technique to getting a spray tan to look natural which is why you need to see one of our professional's at Shear Bliss.
