Day Spa at Whittlebury Hall, The

It was my birthday and I decided to go for a spa weekend with a friend. This turned out to be a stressful, upsetting and not the relaxing environment we had booked for. It Spa and steam rooms were very overcrowded unable to fit in most of the time -with other clients continuously opening and closing the doors looking for space. The lockers were not working and there was water dripping from the ceiling in the leisure pool area. The food was not great and the room was cold as the heating wasn't working. My friend almost had her eyes knocked out by loose slab in shower cubicle room. On the Sunday when we decided to leave early, there was a line of people waiting to see the duty manager re complaint of their experience; the same as us. Was told to write in re complaint, sent letter in over a week ago and still no contact re my letter. It appears they just don't care about the experience of their customers and want your money.Annette - London

This package is very good. You can get two full hour treatments, also a choice of treatments. The Heat and Ice experiences are also very good. Only complaint i would have is the food at lunch could be a lot better, especially for vegetarians, but overall the day is good value for money.

A fabulous day with two 55minute treatments and lunch for only £99. I had an Elemis prescription facial which was out of this world. The aromas and texture of the products was fantastic - probably the nicest facial i've ever had. The therapist was very knowledgable and not pushy trying to sell product after the treatment. The other treatment was an Elemis coconut scrub and milk and honey wrap with dry floatation. Very pleasant but i found the milk application cold and slightly uncomfortable at first. I think i would have preferred a full body massage instead, however, it's a matter of taste. Lunch was a little rushed, but a great selection of hot and cold food that was very tasty. A great tip is to arrive a little before your allocated time to avoid the queues. Fantastic darkened relaxation room for a snooze after lunch!

This is a great spa for relaxing, the facilities are spot on & the quiet room lovely. Would agree with a previous reviewer that they could get crowded - we have been lucky so far but could see how they would be a bit cramped on a busy day.Third time just coming up, & 1st day spa, shows how much we like it. Customer service is fantastic too. My only small gripe is that the food is a tad plain for my liking, but my husband LOVES it so each to their own!Many more visits to come I think.

I have been to Whittlebury a few times with mixed experiences. The facilities are great; it's a large spa but it can get very busy in the heat and ice experience. I would recommend going during the week when it's quieter.The lunch provided is great; with a wide choice and there is a lovely relaxation room where you can go and have a nap! Overall, it's good value for money.

I have used several spa's over the years for overnight experiences but never a day spa as I felt that you would not relax fully.... how wrong I was. I visited Whittlebury Hall with one of my best friends for her birthday and used the facilities as she lived in nearby Towcester. The wet rooms are fabulous and the food was healthy and of very good quality. I will be visiting here again as soon as her birthday comes round again!

It's been a while since my visit but I ran across this spa in a recent search and saw that no one had reviewed it! Well I remember having one of the best massages ever on my visit there. The fire and ice treatment rooms were pretty nice if a tad run down and the huge jacuzzi in the middle was absolutely fantastic. I had two treatments - both using Espa products and loved them. Would definitely go back for a 1/2 day experience...
