Tucked into two sandy coves along a half-mile stretch of Mediterranean coastline, the Blau Porto Petro Beach Resort & Spa is well situated for enjoying the sunny Spanish island of Mallorca. Taking its name from the neighboring fishing village of Porto Petro, the 300-plus-room waterfront resort is nestled in a fragrant pine forest. Visitors can relax and rejuvenate at the resort's inviting Ecologic Natural Spa Porto Petro, featuring treatments from around the world and a plethora of retreat packages.
Opened in 2005, children are welcome at this active destination, which is open from January through November. During their stay, visitors can participate in a wide variety of sports and activities, such as snorkeling, sailing, tennis, and yoga, as well as golf, horseback riding, and exploring the natural wonders nearby. Rooms range from doubles to villas with private pools, and the resort's dining options include four restaurants with a variety of fresh Spanish, Mediterranean, and Asian offerings.

The Ecologic Natural Spa Porto Petro is a 12,000-square-foot modern retreat bathed in creams, yellows, beiges, and rich wood tones and accented throughout with soothing candlelight, music, and scents. The spa's slogan, "Enter into a world of sensations," is reflected in its global treatment menu, which draws inspiration from India, Japan, Bali, and Thailand. Facilities include 11 treatment rooms, a changing room, a fully equipped fitness center, exercise rooms, a hair salon, and a boutique. The spa's Thermal Circuit is composed of a jet pool, seven specialized showers, a Finnish sauna, a Roman bath, a hammam, an ice fountain, and a Jacuzzi.
The spa offers several signature treatments and wellness packages, including personalized slimming treatments, various massage, Ayurvedic therapies, anti-aging treatments, aromatherapy, facials, and more. One of the most popular packages is the 150-minute Extravaganzza hydrotherapy program, which consists of a choice of body scrubs, a private aromatherapy steam bath, an anti-stress body mask, a hydro-massage milk bath, and a choice of massage, with warm and cool showers between treatments. Seniors, pregnant women, and even teens will find treatment and therapy options suited to their needs. (The minimum age for spa treatments is 16.)

Blau Porto Petro's accommodations consist of 319 guest rooms with views of the coastline. Decorated in natural colors to emphasize the Mediterranean views, room sizes range from double rooms to junior and full suites to spacious villas. All rooms have air conditioning, a terrace, under-floor heating in the bathrooms, Internet connection, satellite TV, a mini bar, and 24-hour room service. Villas, which can accommodate up to four adults and two children, come with butler service, two double bedrooms, two bathroom suites, a large living room, a kitchen and terrace, and a private outdoor pool or Jacuzzi.
Good food abounds in the property's four restaurants, all with spectacular views of the grounds and the Mediterranean. Ran de Mar Restaurant offers cuisine from around the world served buffet-style or made to order in front of diners. Regional Spanish dishes, like tapas, paella, and Pata Negra ham, are the specialty of La Finca Restaurant. Reservations are required for dinner at Midori Restaurant, which serves various Japanese dishes, and Galani, a romantic gourmet restaurant specializing in Mediterranean cuisine and wine. Throughout the resort are also several bars and cafes for drinks and snacks.

Activities
Visitors have endless opportunities for fitness and activity at Blau Porto Perto. In addition to the fitness center, the grounds include three outdoor swimming pools, 10 tennis courts (both clay and hard), billiard tables, paddle tennis courts, table tennis, beach volleyball courts, and a multi-purpose court. Guests who prefer to relax on the beach are treated to a sun bed and towel service. There are also opportunities for bicycling, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, pedal boating, snorkeling, diving, tai chi, Pilates, archery, and Spanish lessons. A golf course and horseback riding stables are also very close to the resort.
Children stay entertained at Blaudi Club, where kids ages 2 to 12 can romp all day in age-appropriate playgroups. A children's pool, a landscape play area, and a sports area are also designed with kids in mind. There is a teenager club (ages 12 to 17) during European school holiday periods. The property features a convention center and auditorium, as well as seven meeting rooms with natural lighting and magnificent views over Porto Petro's marina.
Outside the resort, guests can explore the island's natural and cultural beauty, from sleepy fishing villages to breathtaking nature preserves. Fishermen can be seen repairing their nets at the port in Cala Figuera, and boat rides on the underground Lake Martel--one of the chambers inside the Caves of Drach--include a classical music concert performed from boats. Other attractions include the steep cliffs and fine sandy beaches of Mondragó Natural Park and the rich birdlife and landscape of the Cabrera archipelago, which is a 90-minute boat ride away.
