  This private-island One&Only Reethi Rah, set in the Maldives, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean about 400 miles southwest of India, comprises 32 over-water villas and 98 beach villas. Just 75 minutes by luxury yatch from Male International airport, the resort showcases a full-service spa devoted to Ayurvedic rituals and ESPA products. Wellbeing Spa cuisine is available at many of the restaurants and through in-room dining.

  A beachfront fitness studio near the spa includes TechnoGym equipment, the Kinesis Bodycentric training system, and personal trainers. Yoga, tai chi, Pilates, and meditation are practiced lagoonside in the open-air Chi Pavilion. There are also six swimming pools.

Set amid lush gardens, the 1,500-square-meter One&Only Spa by ESPA is sleekly decorated to blend with its environment, using touches of batu chandi stone and bamboo. Spa services can be taken in a variety of venues: the spa has several thatched-roof treatment villas, including two over-the-water double treatment suites and three Thai massage single rooms, along with an Open Spa Garden Juice Bar and the Bastien Gonzalez Chiropody & Pedicure Center. Additional fixtures such as separate men's and women's outdoor vitality pools, crystal steam rooms, saunas, Lifestyle showers, and ice fountains provide a tranquil environment for guests to refresh. Guests can also unwind between services in open-air relaxation pavilions.

Spa services include massage, facials, hot stone therapy, waxing, body wraps, treatments for expectant mothers, as well as "Precious Moments" rituals for teens. Hair and nail care is also available. Also featured on the spa's menu are Wellness Journeys, individualized programs lasting three to 14 days that combine ESPA treatments and fitness activities.

Villa accommodations are situated on the beach or over the water, designed with sleek interiors of teak, mahogany, and kapur wood materials and a color palette of cocoas, creams, and red. All Beach Villas offer access to a private beach and some feature pools, while the Water Villas--some also equipped with pools--have verandas with steps leading down into the ocean and hammocks suspended over water.

Reethi restaurant, with ocean views, serves Asia/Pacific and Mediterranean fusion cuisine. At Tapasake, guests can enjoy modern Japanese entrées. Fanditha, an outdoor restaurant on the northern tip of the island, offers Middle Eastern fare in a casual environment of Arabian carpets, bamboo loungers, and hammocks. The Rah Bar features light food and drinks during the day and has live music and cocktails at night. Wellbeing Spa cuisine is available at many of the resort's restaurants and through in-room dining.

One&Only Reethi Rah hosts a variety of activities for the sports enthusiast such as beach volleyball, pétanque, soccer, croquet, and bicycling. Water adventures include fishing, canoeing, parasailing, wakeboarding, snorkeling, and windsurfing. In addition, guests have access to a 4.5-mile jogging trail, two tennis courts at the Peter Burwash International Tennis Academy, and several exercise classes at the 2,000-square-foot fitness center, including aerobics dancing, Pilates, tai chi, yoga, and meditation.

There are six pools, including an architectural statement one that juts out into the lagoon, a children's pool, lap pool, and free-form pool. Excursions include yacht cruises, private picnics, seaplane flights, dolphin watching expeditions, snorkeling, and trips to Malé.

The resort caters to its young guests by offering the KidsOnly Club, for ages 4-11, which organizes activities like Maldivian dance lessons and cooking classes.
