Built in 1607 as a private residence and in 1890 converted into a luxury hotel, Schloss Velden is famed for its striking golden exterior and location beside Lake Woerth in southeastern Austria. The hotel has 105 guest rooms and the 37,674-square-foot Auriga Spa. Water sports, two pools, a fitness center, golf simulator room, and tennis court are also available. Golf, skiing, and hiking are available off-property. Meeting space can hold up to 230.

The resort has 105 guest accommodations: 39 in the chateau and 66 in a newer wing. Rooms are classified as Standard (334 to 581 square feet), Deluxe (571 to 678 square feet), Capella (678 to 840 square feet), and Premier (721 to 829 square feet). The four Royal Suites are 926 to 980 square feet. The six Chateau Suites are in the turrets of the chateau and have circular beds. Romantic Suites (990 to 1,884 square feet) have either a baby grand piano or sauna. The Kaiser Suite (3,230 square feet) has two bedrooms, conference room, and a balcony with dining space for eight.

The resort has two restaurants, one bar, and a café. Schlossstern serves gourmet dishes (menu changes weekly) made with local ingredients. There are three menus: a la carte, three-course vegetarian, and seven-course gourmet. On the lakeshore opposite the chateau, Seespitz offers casual dining, from regional to international cuisine. The Schloss Bar is known for its locally brewed Schloss Bräu and tastings in its walk-in wine cellar. (It also serves afternoon tea.) The Spa Café provides seasonal light fare. Kosher diets can be accommodated.

The fitness center (1,991 square feet) has Technogym equipment and a golf simulator room. Classes are offered in yoga and Pilates and personal consultations on nutrition. The hotel has coaches on the putting green and tennis courts for on-the-spot tips. In addition to the indoor pool at the spa, the resort has a 1,205-square-foot outdoor pool adjacent to the lake. The resort also arranges boating and water sports on Lake Woerth. Certified babysitters provide services 24 hours a day.

Golf is available off-site at the nearby Velden Golf Club and at the Villach-Faaker See Golf Club, 16 miles away in Finkenstein. There are two ski resorts, Gerlitzen and Dreiländereck, 20-to30 minutes away by car. The resort staff can arrange hiking in the area.

The resort has five meeting rooms with seating for 10 to 230. Meeting managers are available as well as wedding specialists.
