About Parrot Cay

The serene, hilltop COMO Shambala Spa, whose name is Sanskrit for "center of peace and harmony," offers Eastern-inspired therapies and recently added a 6,600-square-foot, story extension; and Parrot Cay's gourmet-quality spa menu is available for lunch at the pool and in both the resort's restaurants. Fitness is a strong component of the spa, which has a Pilates studio and holds several yoga retreats (with instructors such as Rodney Yee) throughout the year.

The Shambhala spa helps nurture guests' minds, bodies, and spirits holistically. In three pavilions overlooking wetlands and mangrove trees, trained practitioners administer Asian-inspired therapies and guide you through yoga or Pilates at a level appropriate for you. Expanded in February, 2005, the facilities include six new treatment rooms, a yoga room and Pilates studio, freestanding treatment huts with steam facilities, a sauna, and an outdoor Jacuzzi garden, plus a fully equipped gym and the spa's own infinity edge pool. The Shambhala Cottage may be rented for the ultimate privacy in which to experience private training or indulge in one of the many holistic treatments. One of the most popular, the Javanese Royal Lulur Bath, involves being rubbed with sandalwood, ginger and turmeric, then cooled with yogurt; afterwards, you soak in a flower-filled tub. Salon services also include nail care and waxing.
Among the spa's signature treatments are two anti-aging facials incorporating world-renowned Perricone products. The Vitamin C Ester and Alpha Lipoic Acid Treatment stimulates the production of fresh collagen and protects against free radicals. The Olive Oil Polyphenol Treatment is based on Dr. Perricone's discovery of the rejuvenating effects of polyphenol and oleic acid, both found in abundance in olive oil.

The Curry Sisters Restore Retreat 2013

Yoga specialists and sisters, Andrea and Christina Curry, will be leading a six-night retreat at Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos. Through creative sequencing and open dialogue, this empowering retreat will encourage the exploration of habitual thoughts and behaviours, strengthen the mind and body, and inspire a more conscious way of living and communicating. Practitioners will leave feeling truly restored and more adept in their personal practice. The retreat will be open to all levels of practice. Daily classes will include Hatha, Vinyasa flow and Restorative asana practice, grounding and recharging pranayama as well as daily meditation. The sisters will use their years of practice and teaching experience to inspire participants to connect to their bodies, minds and hearts and to embody their greatness.
Throughout the retreat week guests can choose COMO Shambhala treatments, whether it is a calming COMO Shambhala Massage or Reiki session. Daily meals from the healthy and delicious COMO Shambhala Cuisine menu will complement the rounded physical, mental, and spiritual experience.
