About Villa Eden
Occupying a lush estate in the Italian alpine town of Merano, which is known for its mineral springs and spas, the adults-only Villa Eden offers its guests customized, weeklong wellness programs based on extensive medical examinations. (Modified, two- and three-night programs are also available.) Programs are developed by the Villa Eden Scientific Committee of physicians and therapists, and usually include a special diet, fitness training, beauty treatments, evening lectures, and more. (Rates include all meals and snacks.) Family-operated since 1982, Villa Eden has 23 guest rooms and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

Services
Upon arrival, guests undergo a complete physical evaluation that includes testing for heavy metals and free radicals in the body, allergies to food and particles in the air, and an abnormal heart rate. The committee uses the results to create a program, and guests meet with the physicians regularly to discuss progress and long-term goals. Guests also receive instruction upon departure on how to maintain their program at home.
Treatments range from high-tech medical spa services to traditional Chinese medicine. Cosmetic medical services include dermal fillers, laser skin rejuvenation, and liposuction. Breast implants, tummy tucks, and face, neck, and eye lifts are also available. Massages are offered to reduce the appearance of cellulite, drain lymph fluid, and reduce stress. Acupuncture and chakra balancing are also on the menu. In addition, the spa carries its own skin-care products and nutrient line formulated by the committee. Spa facilities include 25 treatment rooms and a salon, offering waxing and nail services.

Single and double occupancy rooms are available. Some standard rooms have a balcony, and the larger Prestige Suites have a separate shower and tub in the bathroom.
As part of the program, the committee selects one of three organic diets for each guest. Diets are based heavily on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, with little salt or fat. Meat is also eaten in moderation, and vegan diets can be accommodated.

The fitness center offers personal training and classes in yoga, Pilates with mat, aqua aerobics, and more. Nordic walking and dance classes are also available. The property has a heated pool indoors and an outdoor pool in the garden. Nightly lectures on health-related topics are also part of most programs.
Merano is known for its natural beauty and well-preserved medieval cathedrals and castles, such as the Castello Principesco. Scenic walking and hiking routes are plentiful, and Via Portici is a popular street for shopping. Merano is also home to natural mineral springs, five minutes away by car.
