In 2014 we’ve seen a number of beauty trends blossom into quite spectacular favourites amongst beauty junkies, 2015 will confidently carry some of those trends on, it will truly be the year of the brow and bottom! Not sure what we mean? Worry not, we’ve taken a look at the key trends from 2014 so you know exactly what to expect in the new year, plus each of these looks are easy to recreate at home, you’ll stay in the know and bang on trend with these celebrity inspired looks.
The Natural Face Lift, It’s All In The Hair!
One of the easiest hairstyles in the world has to be the swept back ponytail. This is ideal for both work and play and can subtly hide any greys! If you stretch your hair tightly (but comfortably) you’ll find your skin ill be pulled back slightly, flattening wrinkles and show off your face shape. You can pair the look with dark eyes and bright lipsticks to glam it up for an evening out. Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow have been rocking this look for years.
Purrrrrfect Cat Eyes, Meow!
Think of Cleopatra as you apply your eye make up each morning and you’ll soon have the eyeliner flick down to a tee. Bring the 60s back in 2015 and recreate Brigitte Bardot’s iconic look with smokey, dark eye makeup. For a simple day look leave the rest of your face bare, but to vamp it up for the evening don’t be afraid to add vibrant lipstick and dark eyes for a more striking look.
The Bigger The Brow, The Louder The WOW
Cara Delevingne sent us all crazy for big, bushy brows in 2014 and this trend is guaranteed to carry over to next year. Minimal plucking and maximum brow pencil will change the shape of your face for the better and draw attention to your eyes, try to get a the colour of the pencil as close as possible to the natural colouring of your brow to compliment your skin tone. Striking brows will draw attention, as Cara’s brows have been the envy of many.
Crimping Is Cool… Again
Stella McCartney has brought crimping back with a bang. Her models have been rocking subtle sections of crimped hair in their ponytails, not only adding volume but also fabulous texture to any hairdo. If you don’t own a crimper (let’s face it many of us threw them out with the 90s) then a simple and very easy alternative is to put tiny plaits through your hair over night to achieve the same effect.
New York Fashion Week was full of incredible lashes, and lets admit that these ‘eye-framers’ create great looks for all occasions. To really show off your lashes use a subtle foundation together with a nude lipstick and with the application of a dark Mascara you’ll spike your lashes, Twiggy style.
I Like Big Butts…
Well, Kim Kardashian has certainly sent us all bottom crazy this year, so 2015 really is going to be any thing butt different (sorry, we couldn’t help it). If you’re not packing much junk in your trunk, don’t worry, there are some great padded pants out there to give you that extra bit of cushioning. Don’t go too crazy though, a subtle bit of padding can look fab, but too much will leave you looking somewhat peculiar.
Natural nails are so in for 2015 and many a celebrity has been spotted with Naked nails on the red carpet, not only is it a great look for spring, but au natural nails can look very pretty and feminine. Keeping your nails healthy with a clear coat or a nude pink shade will ensure that your hands stay trendy in 2015 and your nails will universally match with any look and shade you choose to wear.
