ICE CAPADES
The resort ice rink is a tad tinier than a normal ice-hockey size and is steps from the Lodge via radiant-heated walkways. (Shovelling the snow here is otherwise a Sisyphean task.) Skates for hire are obsessively arranged in a yurt-cum-warming station that's outfitted with an antler chandelier. It's also stocked with toboggans and old-fashioned wooden-framed snowshoes. These have a larger footprint, making it easier to stay on top of the snow, says Sepp Eigenmann, the resort activities director, who is also behind the suppable hot chocolate served at the rink side campfire or in two decked-out lean-tos.
