5 Senses Thai Day Spa
Brilliant spa! December 23, 2010 | 48 of 89 people found this review helpful
I have been visiting this spa for three years now and would recommend it highly for its atmosphere and the professionalism and expertise of staff. It's the only place I know where you can have a genuine Thai massage (which I guarantee will be different than any other type of massage you have previously had).

This visit was a treat for my daughter and myself but left me feeling that it was a real waste of money. The 150 minute hot stone treatment turned out to be a short scrub followed by a treatment with stones that bore little ressemblance to a massage - more of a pat down; this was followed by a facial where the therapist left me for around 40 minutes with a mask on and stones between my toes. It was not particularly comfortable and left me feeling that she was simply taking up time. The final straw was a hard sell of 'products' and an inane ' personal treatment plan' that advised me to take hot baths to relax my lower back.
The therapist was pleasant enough but did not give the impression of being very experienced and aside from the scrub which took up ten minutes of the 150, I had the strong sense that she didn't know what to do nor was she able to let me know what was coming next. Never again, given the number of good spas in London and around the country.
