About Elemis Spa at Mohegan Sun

Set on 240 acres in the foothills of southeastern Connecticut, Mohegan Sun is a casino and hotel that brings pampering spa treatments to the world of gaming and golf with its spacious Elemis Spa, which offers an extensive menu inspired by 10 exotic cultures.

The 34-story hotel's design pays tribute to the Mohegan tribe and its connection with nature. A dramatic crystalline tower representing arrowheads and ceremonial entities, an exploit of exterior glass reflecting the sun, and a 55-foot indoor waterfall and three-story alabaster-and-onyx crystal mountain accompany the Native American aesthetic.

Hotel amenities include 300,000 square feet of gaming area, a family/kids' entertainment complex, a 100,000-square-foot convention center, and an 18-hole golf course. Two entertainment venues frequently showcase live concerts and sporting events, including Mohegan Sun's WNBA team, the Connecticut Sun. The on-site Shops at Mohegan Sun encompass two stories of retail and dining establishments.

Menu of Services

The culture of the Mohegan tribe informs the design of the Elemis Spa at Mohegan Sun, with decorative touches such as carpet designed to represent running water, ceiling designs to represent the longevity of the turtle, and whimsical and spiritual music throughout the facility.

The spa is 23,000 square feet with 18 treatment rooms, as well as a salon, private sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, fitness center, and relaxation lounges for men and women.

Treatments are inspired by a blend of exotic cultures and ancient rituals and include facials, massage, wraps, and full hair and nail services at the salon. Two of the spa's signature rituals are the Ceremony of the Sacred Sun--which incorporates an exotic lime and ginger salt glow with a Total Glow Self Tanning Treatment, followed by a Swedish massage--and the Ceremony of the Strawberry Moon, which features a couple's massage lesson, a jasmine flower bath for two, and a bottle of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries to enjoy during the bath.

Nice and Relaxing
This spa was very nice and it had a relaxing atmosphere. The waiting area was small but the whirlpool and shower area was very nice and big.

Terrible Customer Service
I have visited this spa a few times because of the "great deals" that keep coming up. Yet they always end up being too good to be true. Lesson learned. The services are so-so. The front desk people are disorganized, somewhat rude, not accommodating and there is a major lack of communication throughout. The facilities are decent. The prices and "service fee" are high.

Spa review of Elemis
On arriving at lack of communication between the front desk at check in and someone taking me to the quiet room I was late arriving to my massage person who let me know I was late. I tried to tell her about the mix-up she didn't seem to care but she gave a great massage. There is a seam room, sauna and pool. Great way to relax.

Nice getway for a Saturday
Went to the Elemis spa for a day during super bowl weekend. I had a great swedish massage. The best part was that the the table is hydrolic and high quality. The spa facilities were just average. The was one jacuzzi. It was nice to use the Elemis product to shave

It was just OK
I visited the Spa because i was given a gift certificate. The spa was very nice. The receptionist was helpful and I did not have to wait very long. I had a message and a facial. The message was ok but the room was freezing!! It was so cold I could not relax. I was actually shivering! I mentioned it and the response I got was, "you will be able to warm up in the shower soon". The facial was great except it lasted about 15 minutes. Overall, I was disappointed. I did not leave feeling relaxed. However, the facilities were nice and I did enjoy a nice hot shower before I left.

All new Robes, Slippers. Great Service, always
It was a nice surprise to see the new robes, slippers. I'm told that the new pedicure chairs will be arriving soon. Always loved the service. Great to see the improvements.

Very Nice Spa
This is a very nice spa but the relaxation/waiting room was a bit small and could use a little something else. The changing area was a little small as well. But my treatment was great and customer service was pleasant.

Fingers Got Cut
I booked a manicure here last minute. The nail tech "buffed" my nails with a finger nail file. I didn't say anything because I am not the professional. I ended up with scrapes and burns on my fingers.

Don't Waste Your money !!
I recently went to Elemis to treat myself to a nice day of relaxation by getting a massage.I got into my robe, the robe had a hole in it, the sandals were old and cut my feet.I tried going into the steam room but it was the size of my closet.I went to get a towel and there was none and was informed that this happens often and that i would have to wait.I couldn't relax in the relaxation area because it was crowded and many clients were standing due to lack of seats. During my massage I was having a conversation with the therapist about another facility I recently went to that had their Director taking the employee's tips. The employee said sounds like your talking about this place as their Director has been taking their tips and commission from their paychecks and also overcharging guests and casino. After hearing that, I would never recommend this spa to any friends and family. The therapist was very friendly and good, however deserves a better workplace.I wish the therapist worked somewhere else so they could work on me again but my future treatments will be done elsewhere.

Wonderful Spa
I agree with the one person that said the robes are dingy, they are. I don't know why they don't replace them. Anyway, I really like the facility, have had great massages and facials. Like that the whirl pool, steam and showers are avail all day, also pool and patio are avail all day. Very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, they just need to get new robes.

Wonderful time
My friend and I did a spa day and had a great relaxing time at this spa. The staff and facility was calm and relaxing. Besides the great massage, there was a steam room, whirlpool, sauna as well as pool. We ate lunch with drinks at poolside in our robes and slippers. It was a great day!

This is a high end spa?
Here is my experience: I am given a bathrobe that looks like it was supposed to be white but some how is dingy grey and so worn that it is see thru. The pedicure chairs don't have working massagers (the controls are there they just don't work) and the leather on the chairs is worn thru. The manicurists were all passing around the same couple of bottles of top coat (I had to wait). I asked why they didn't grab another and was told there wasn't anymore. They have 4 pedicure stations and 3 foot dryers so I had to wait again. They have 5 manicure stations and only 2 hand dryers (had to wait). I was told they didn't have any open appointments for hair but there seemed to be 2 managers getting their hair done (and I know they were managers from the spa business they were talking about while getting their hair done in front of customers). They ran out of towels. I was given two small hand towels to use after I showered. I go in the relaxation lounge (to relax) and there are like 50 women crammed into a room the size of a closet with like 3 little loveseats. I complained at the desk and the 2 little tarts (one w/ long black hair and the other a reddish). I am wondering how they have the rating that they have. Do they pay for it?

Elemis Day Spa
Over the weekend, I was treated to a 'moms' weekend away, and part of my gift was a day at Elemis. The facility was amazing, providing every ammenity, and the staff was friendly, professional and courteous. I can't wait to go back. I would highly recommend this facility. Even after my treatments were finished, I had access to the locker room, pool, fitness facility, etc. for the day. Wonderful service.

Wonderful girls day at the spa
A few weeks ago, my daughter and I treated ourselves to an afternoon at the Elemis Spa. We had an excellent experience. Everyone was very friendly, professional and courteous. The relaxation room was quiet and had various treats and drinks. We were taken to our treatment rooms in a timely manner. The treatment rooms very clean and what I particularly liked, soundproof. Nothing is worst than hearing noise from outside the room when you are trying to relax. After the massage and facials, we had plenty of time to use the other facilities, steam room and whirpool. We never felt rushed. The dressing room had all the amenities needed to get yourself ready for a day at the casino. We would highly recommend this spa for a special treat.

Worth the experience and the price
Loved this spa. I was pregnant and thoroughly enjoyed this full spa experience. We used the fitness facilities. New machines and a variety of options to burn the calories. A great pool and bar/snack area to relax. The locker rooms are clean and posh. And the spa services were EXCELLENT!! I can't wait to go back!!

It keeps getting Better
This is my third visit, and it keeps getting better.I booked myself a Swedish massage, when I checked in I was offered the Aroma Stone! I took the reccomendations of the concierge and upgraded my massage! What a Dream! 80 minutes of hot stones was the best massage I have ever had. I cannot wait for my next visit.
