Tylney Hall Hotel

An outstanding luxury country house hotel & Spa that has never lost its old world sense of charm

For old world charm and elegance, visit Tylney Hall, a luxurious country house hotel in rural Hampshire. This stunning Victorian-era mansion house features a fabulously restored Italian Lounge, Hapsburg Europe-inspired Grey Lounge, atmospheric old library with bar, and 66 acres of fine parkland. The gardens are a perfect escape for nature lovers: find tranquillity in the stunning Italian, Dutch, Rose, Azalea and Water Gardens. Tylney Hall is romance and luxury at its finest – perfect for a special occasion or lush weekend getaway.
The health suite is located in the former stables of the house and offers a variety of relaxing treatments including facials with Kerstin Florian products, massages, manicures and pedicures, indulgent signature packages, body wraps, plus treatments for pregnant women. Swim away the stress with a visit to the indoor and outdoor pools (The Times described the latter as one of ‘’the coolest pools in Britain’’), work out in the gym, work up a sweat in the sauna, and explore the extensive grounds.

Facilities & Amenities

If you’re feeling a little more energetic there is also a well equipped gymnasium and an indoor pool  to help sooth away any stresses of the day.

Our outdoor swimming pool is tucked away in its own walled courtyard and has been described by no less an authority than The Times as being one of “the coolest pools in Britain”.  It stands in the shadow of the main Hall and its poolside loungers attract just as many sun worshippers as swimmers.  Being something of a sun trap, it also makes a quiet spot to relax and enjoy an evening drink.

Despite being in close proximity to Basingstoke, our extensive hotel grounds offer perfect peace and quiet with mile after mile of country trails to explore, or perhaps you’d prefer a more leisurely stroll through the historic gardens and enjoy Hampshire’s longest uninterrupted view of the countryside.

The more active can play tennis, or why not try your hand at something a little different and swap your racket for a mallet and try your hand at croquet.

Golf can be arranged at the adjoining 18 hole golf course, and within the grounds of the estate we can arrange all sorts of outdoor pursuits which include archery, clay pigeon shooting and even hot air ballooning.

Rooms & Dining

Luxury hotels in Hampshire come in many guises, but what makes Tylney Hall Hotel so special is its period ambience, and walking into your room or suite for the first time is a little like stepping back in time. In the main Hall the suites and rooms lead off the magnificent wooden staircase that rises from the reception area.

Each room is a little world unto itself, and has been decorated and furnished individually with period pieces to enhance its own particular charm. Sweep back the heavy drapes that frame the high period windows in many of the rooms and you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the rolling Hampshire countryside.

Whether you are sitting down to a romantic, candlelit dinner for two, a light lunch or tea and scones by the fire, you can be sure of outstanding quality and service.

Meals are served in our wood-panelled Oak Room Restaurant with delightful views of the gardens. We also serve afternoon teas and light lunches in the Italian or Grey Lounge in front of the fire or on the terraces in summer.
